Fans and followers often wonder why BPCI lacks the bonggahan factor, palaging me kulang. The answer is simple. BPCI cannot spend more than what it earns in a fiscal year. All expenses -- big and small are budgeted. We often neglect to think that the organization exists as a non-profit entity. Ung mga unang gastusin, bail out muna and billable to Araneta Group coffers, the parent company. All expenses are therefore audited and subsequently liquidated within the period. I have no clue if such is the case with ALV Group and MUPh.
BPCI relies heavily on sponsorships for its financial stream; it has no cash savings, so to speak. In some instances, revenues in cash terms are PLEDGES! settled over time and not a one-time cash payment, iba dyan gift vouchers pa. Whatever is earned must cover for the legit expenditures within the period. What remains from current spending (i.e. cash prizes, accommodation and billeting, travel and logistics, cost of venue, admin and operating allowances, etc, etc.) is ploughed back through the various projects and beneficiaries as stated in its charter being non-profit charitable organization. Hospicio de San Jose, feeding programs for the poor, etc... hello!
BPCI doesn't earn income during the interim; it closes temporarily after the coronation show is over. The org becomes active over again weeks before the pageant season begins where ad-hoc committees are formed but will disband when the finale night is done with. Except perhaps for a Secretary/PA to the Chairman, BPCI doesn't maintain a permanent staff and operates mainly on support personnel which are selected from the regular employees on payroll under UNIPROM, an Araneta owned promotions, marketing and entertainment services subsidiary. Some big names held in the organization's roster provide expertise for their love of pageantry and loyalty to the causes of BPCI. These personalities are amigas and trusted associates of MSMdeA whose staunch friendship and loyalty remain with the Chairman's beck and call.
Walang kinang ang show kinalabasan. It comes as a boon that a media outlet sponsors the production segment of the annual search. Pati yan, budgeted din. No apologies, this may help explain why. There!

But for an A+ production, it is far from being best, or better…just good enough.
Naitawid!
Too many aspects to improve considering its 60 years existence.
Bb. Pilipinas has lightyears to catch up.
If this is a new org, I will let it pass, but NO!

I also remember the PressCon of Miss World Philippines at Okada where the girls were wearing white dresses and it was NOT this bongga either. TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION.
