Please adopt the English name instead of French. If she goes to Miss Universe, her name might be written wrong in the sash with French's Name. Its so difficult to pronounce and much more to write. Just like Miss Philippines was written as PHILLIPINES and Miss Belgium as BELIGUM from the past.

Her sash at Miss Universe 1986 was "La Cote'D'Ivorie". Even at early days of Miss International, their sash is "Cote'D'Ivorie" not Ivory Coast. Almost all the pageants used "Cote'D'Ivorie" name instead of "Ivory Coast".

We should use then Binibining Pilipinas, Miss Deutsch, Miss Espana, Miss Siam, Miss Polanski etc in it's Generic Name so it's fair for All and Everyone Could find it difficult to Pronounce on Almost every country's name.

The government of Cote'D'Ivorie has declared their French name will be their official name in the international sphere, that's why you will always see the name Cote'D'Ivorie in languages other than French. And if they were to join Miss Universe, as per the request of the Ivorian government, the name of the country in the sash should be Cote'D'Ivorie.

It should not be. A country's name in the sash should be written in a Standard English Alphabet or else we would be seeing Chinese, Japanese or Korean Characters in their sash too. There's these wormlike Alphabet of Georgia or Thailand that might also be in the sash. Ivory Coast will not be given a franchise by MUO, if in the international community, the Alphabet is not recognized. Ivory Coast's name in French has extra punctuation mark or Apostrophe that the people of the world rather the universe couldn't read it. It's not a Standard English Alphabet.
