Bianca Guidotti in 2014 and Mariel De Leon in 2017 were the only Philippine reps who failed to place in Miss I in this decade.
The Philippines is the only country to rival Venezuela at Miss International, with 6 crowns to the latter's 8 crowns. No country comes even close.
Miss International is the only pageant to elude the pageant powerhouse India.
The narrative in Miss International is they are looking for a girl who is sweet, with soft delicate features, bordering on a doll - like, angelic or a stunning gorgeous facial beauty.
Nothing exotic, dark or dusky type of beauty.
However, I believe it's just a matter of time when we witness the crowning of the 1st black woman in Miss International in the future.

Philippines already had 3 MI crowns before Venezuela even won its first. PH did poorly in the 80’d and ‘90s while Venezuela won every 3 years from 1997 to 2010. That’s why it overtook PH very fast in terms of number of crowns.

Actually, Jeymmy Vargas (2004), Elizabeth Mosquera (2010) and Valerie Hernandez (2014) were black winners from Latin America.

Apart from India, the entire African continent is yet to have an MI winner. However, African delegates placed in the Top 5 in 2015, 2018 and 2019 (all of which were black women). So hopefully we'll see an African winner (and an Indian winner) soon.

In terms of the type of physical beauty they prefer, I've always noticed that the general "MI preference" leans towards women with oval-shaped faces with delicate, doll-like features. From this decade alone, Bint, Mariem, Kevin, Edymar, Valerie and Bea could all be considered to fall within the preference.

There are exceptions though. Kylie has more of a round face shape but she had a very fine, doll-like beauty on MI 2016. Lara Quigaman is actually the exotic, dark or dusky type that you said and yet she still won in 2005.
