I'm currently following this international pageant, and it would feel unfair to my part if I don't post my final choices. I had to start a war with my slothful alter ego. Thankfully, I emerged as victorious.
The process of selecting my final choices was really, really tough and tiresome. I almost gave up, but yeah, I figured everything out. By the way, I'm not a pageant expert or anyone nor I intend to be. I'm just an ordinary pageant fanatic, so don't expect something incredibly professional from the things that you will read from me. I commit a lot of grammatical errors too, so bear with me. And also this isn't a prediction list. This list is only composed of my favorites. My prediction list is almost entirely different from this. Here's the list of my final choices:
BUBBLING UP: UKRAINE, MOLDOVA, MEXICO, CZECH REPUBLIC, COSTA RICA, INDIA, NEW ZEALAND, SPAIN, SURINAME, TURKEY
TOP 16 - 20: MY SENTIMENTAL FAVORITES
20. MYANMAR - KHIN WINT WAH
She is just adorable. For me, she is too cute to be ignored. She is not a pageant material. She ain't gonna win this, but I couldn't help but love her, so I included her in my Top 20.
19. ENGLAND - RACHEL CHRISTIE
She is the supermodel/beauty queen counterpart of Jada Pinkett-Smith. There's something about her that is really mesmerizing. She should not be underestimated. I think this girl is worthy of placing.
18. RWANDA - AURORE MUTESI
I love this girl so much. She has a special place in my heart. Everytime I see her, she just makes me smile. She has this vibrant smile that can lighten up a place.
17. ROMANIA - NATALIA RUS
She reminds me of Bonnie Wright also known as Ginny Weasley in Harry Potter. She has this serene and calm look that is contagious. I think she should place, but I'd like to see her represent Romania in Miss World. For now, I think she needs more confidence.
16. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - ALBA AQUINO
She is one of the most well-packaged black girls in the competition. Nuff said.
TOP 11 - 15: THE DARK HORSES
15. LATVIA - DIANA KUBASOVA
This girl is no longer an amateur in beauty pageants. She had joined a couple of international pageants before. I think she will bring something good to the table. However, she is not as gorgeous as in her photos. She looks old in candid photographs. Maybe it has something to do with her make up and hair. I prefer the blonde hair that she had before.
14. DENMARK - ALEXANDRIA EISSINGER
She is one of the most facially beautiful girls in this pageant. She is not being noticed that much, but I think this girl can pull a surprise. Very underrated.
13. VENEZUELA - ANNIE FUENMAYOR
She may not be the best delegate that Venezuela can ever send to an international pageant, but I think she possesses the skills to stand out just like other Venezuelan queens.
12. AZERBAIJAN - SAMIRA AKMANOVA
I think she still lacks experience and training, but no one can deny how potentially great this girl is. She has this Amelia Vega vibe that is building up on her. She just needs to know how to make use of it. In few years, she can represent her country well in grander beauty pageant. However, I think, she can be the silent killer of the competition. She needs to place.
11. ARGENTINA - JULIANA KAWKA
Another underrated girl. If she is just well-prepared, she can easily penetrate top 5. She is a vixen. I think she needs to refrain from making herself look sexy in photographs. It's not appealing anymore. But yeah, she is fascinating. I think she should try for Miss Universe next time.
TOP 6 - 10: THE SO-CLOSE GIRLS
10. THAILAND - THANYAPORN SRISEN
I admit I was disgusted by this girl before. I swore to not place her in my list. But, in the end, I warmed up to her. Until now, she does not look beautiful to me, but what I love about her is that she is always prepared. That's her saving grace. Her styling is the best! She also knows how to improvise. She can be a good fashion designer or stylist if she wishes to be. I think she will bring her A-game in the coronation night. She deserves to land a spot in top 10.
9. LUXEMBOURG - HELOISE PAULMIER
This girl is wonderfully photogenic. I started loving this girl the instant I saw her official Miss Supranational photos. She is beautiful. She looks as luxurious as Luxembourg. However, she made the same pose and expression in her photos. I was hoping I could place her higher, but I personally think this the farthest she can reach.
8. BRAZIL - RAQUEL BENETTI
This girl may look like a cougar in her photographs, but she is definitely the cougar whom men are delighted with. It's weird but she is giving me a Stepford Wife-Nicole Kidman-ish vibe. I think it's because of her sex appeal.
7. AUSTRALIA - ESMA VOLODER
She looks like a popular senior high school student to me in a good way. She is not the stereotyped, b*tchy prom queen that one sees in movies and television shows. She is like the prom queen whom everybody adores in school because of her beauty, pleasant personality and innocence. I love her youthfulness. I think it's the thing that makes her standout among the girls. She also reminds me of Angie Miller of American Idol but prettier.
6. BELARUS - VERONIKA CHACHINA
Veronika is surely going to place, not because Belarus is the host country, but because she is indisputedly beautiful. I love the way her hair is blonde. I love her eyes that are suggesting something sexy. She's a head-turner. A top 5 finish is highly possible and so is a back-to-back win.
TOP 5: THE UNSTOPPABLES
4TH RUNNER UP | U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS | ESONICA VEIRA
First of all, I love this girl's name. It's sophisticated. Secondly, she is the best black girl in the competition. She is not one of my favorites, but when I looked back, because everybody is including her in their top 5, to see what these people see in her, I realized that they are right. She is amazing. How can I not see her greatness before? She just photographs really, really well. She has a great body. Her hair and styling... HIP! She looks like a gorgeous, black girl who lives in a big city and is having the best time of her life. I wouldn't mind if she wins this whole thing. She's the most prepared girl in this competition. If she doesn't win, I'd love to see her in Miss Universe and be the best USVI that has ever graced that stage.
3RD RUNNER UP | RUSSIA | YANA DUBNIK
This girl is just splendid. Although I think that she's not fully prepared (lacks personality and sometimes she looks bored), I think her beauty alone can snatch the crown. Beauty-wise, she is the best Russian delegate in years, in any beauty pageant.
2ND RUNNER UP | PUERTO RICO | DESIREE DEL RIO
She is the best Latina in this competition by a clear mile. I knew she would standout right from the moment I saw her first ever arrival photo. I was like, "This girl is the one to beat!" She kept a low profile from the arrivals, but as time went on, she showcased the great things that she has. She has a great presence; very commanding. She has a Marelisa Gibson aura. She is ready to win the crown.
1ST RUNNER UP | POLAND | ANGELIKA OGRYZEK
No words can describe how much I love this girl. Her aura and beauty remind me of a beautiful forest sprite - mystifying, enchanting and hypnotic. Poland has been placing since the 1st edition of Miss Supranational and it already acquired its first Supranational crown. I would feel so joyful if she clinches Poland's second crown.
MISS SUPRANATIONAL 2013 | PHILIPPINES | MUTYA DATUL
Mutya has gone through a lot of ups and downs in this competition. However, I can say that all her struggles are worth it. I'm not being nationalistic here, but it's very apparent that she is the TOTAL PACKAGE. She is beautiful, sexy, a fighter, and has an amazing personality and a good heart. She is definitely worthy of the crown.
