James Deakins announce in the finals that it will be the case next year, hopefully Carousel is already in the planning stage now.I didn't catch this part.
It was mentioned in passing, for fans who miss the live staging. Hopefully, no plan B this time.Hopefully, Carousel will put their 100% focus on Miss Earth 2022 as early as now.
I don't mind another virtual pageant for Miss Earth Philippines 2022 on June/July but Miss Earth 2022 must be done FACE TO FACE by hook or by crook.
I am nervous with this new variant of concern. Hopefully, it will be a live finals. Wish Vietnam or Thailand will push through with their proposals and Carousel work with them.
Staging a live finals in the Philippines is risky. Quarantine protocols are ever changing.

Thailand seems to be handling quarantine and Covid protocols well, they should consider. MET org have proven to be one formidable team.

A year from today, the real situations obtaining on the ground will largely differ from what they seem like today. It's quite early to predict although it is everyone's hope that all else will settle for the better as it should when the time comes.
It's not as simple as we like to assume it is. I trust that Carousel/MEO had learned from lessons of the past, i.e. insurmountable organizational lapses on the part of the country organizers and huge cost overruns resulting from an inexperienced foreign sponsor with no experience in handling such affairs of a global scale. Language barrier may even add up to the common concern.
The advantages of having the event culminate in the home country are enumerable as opposed to those that can be found in a foreign land. The latter pales so much in comparison in comparison to staging the annual event in its country of origin. In example, total expenditures could climb by as much because the expenses incurred abroad are pegged with exchange rates in dollar units. (The Thai baht and the Vietnamese dong are each pegged in $US in matters of exchange rate transaction.) In addition, the task of an in-country logistical demands, home security and safety requirements, etc. etc. MEO has had to grapple with the unfamiliar cultural milieus if they will decide to opt for a foreign staging. These are just few issues that come to my mind. There are more to ascertain and if push comes to shove could bring the wrong signals i.e. in terms of revenue streams and production values that MEO isn't yet ready to compromise.

Prior to the virtual pageant, I remember that a fellow Earthling revealed in the Miss Earth 2021 thread that there were plans to hold a hybrid pageant in the US this year. Is Laura alluding to possible hosting of Miss Earth 2022. Who knows…
