They firmly believe that beauty pageants are mainly for entertainment and that advocacy is just secondary. An advocacy driven pageant like Miss Earth, for them, is a quiz show and just a second tier beauty contest.
With the new era of Miss Universe and the result of the latest edition, especially the exclusion of Celeste Cortesi, I wonder what they are thinking right now. It's seems that Miss Universe is headed towards becoming advocacy driven, I wonder if they will relegate Miss Universe from being an Alpha pageat to a 2nd tier beauty contest.
I have to agree with this. I am also a huge fan of Miss Earth - although for Miss Universe, I understood why people were surprised with Amelia placing (although honestly, I wasn't that surprised!). It's sad because Celeste is a Miss Earth alumna herself, yet despite competing in a pageant now adopting to a style Miss Earth has practiced for years, she wasn't able to make it as far as she did back four years ago.
Ultimately, entertainment can't be compromised, but that doesn't mean that you should compromise your advocacy either. I want to see Miss Universe prioritize again her advocacies of choice, especially the ones that matter indeed, while the production offered is great and gives a glimpse of both the past and the future in a way in which fans would love it.

Since Miss Universe is heading to a more advocacy and inclusivity driven competition then they should start showing the interview prelims with the judges as well to be more transparent in choosing their semi finalists.
