Rumor Or Fact: Is Catriona Gray Hosting Miss Universe 2022?

Is this true or is this just fiction: Catriona hosting the Miss Universe 2022?

It all started as speculation. Then the journey of this rumor to be received as fact is less about the story's
believability and more about the 'certainty' with which the story is delivered. As the story makes progress
through the rumor mill the tellers become less inclined to acknowledge its provenance and more certain in
its telling.

If this is true ... this is supposed to be the biggest news. But I can feel the hesitation ... there is a cloud
of doubt covering the face of what is suppose to be the NEWS OF THE DAY!

But I see excited souls on youtube making this confirmation: What's your take on this? I still have to hear
a confirmation from the horse"s mouth. The Miss Universe site was also mum about this and Catriona has
not said anything either.

I feel I have to agree. Americans are not as pageant crazy as compared to Thais, Indonesians, the Filipinos,
and Vietnamese. Maybe South Americans do but not the USA and Canada.

That's the reason why there's a rigodon among the major stations - from CBS, it was accepted by NBC with hesitation.
FOX followed but the ratings were just abnormally dismal and dingy.

To be honest, I would rather wait for an official announcement before anything else, although there are no problems with it should she host it. She's already proven to be a wonderful host, especially in the 2021 edition of Binibining Pilipinas.

I will be happy if she will host no doubt about it. I have the same attitude ... and I would rather wait for the final
announcement rather than counting our chickens before they are hatched.

I hate Fake News. I don't know who and what to trust anymore. I feel duped especially when I don't know what
I heard or read is true. And groping in the dark to sort out truth and fiction is a difficult situation.

Making statements like that ... much more making a video is a tall order. If the rumor didn't follow as planned one
will lose credibility. I'd rather not put myself in that situation.

When you will lose credibility you can mitigate it a bit with an explanation, but is that enough? If you fail to come
through on something big and you don't offer an explanation on why ... nobody will believe you the next time.

Like I said, I am not always gullible to information being spoonfed to us on the internet. I always hold my punches
and behave with restraints even though the urge to squawk is tempting.` I always wait until reliable sources (as you
said, Miss Universe or Catriona herself) confirms the news.

For one, I really hate being the bearer of FAKE NEWS.

While we are at it (making advice) my friend gave me some tips on how to avoid falling prey to Fake News peddlers.
He told me valuable words of wisdom on how to fact-check like a PRO.

1. The rule of thumb is to check for the author's credentials. Do they have authority on the subject? If he has a history
of selling fake news like some kind of pancakes ... watch out!
2. Can you smell bias? Is the article leaning towards pampering or overindulging a certain group of people? Was
the video made to click-bait?
3. Was the thread starter cited reliable and credible sources? Is the video supported by evidence? If there isn't ...
re-evaluate, google if you can and research ... and then decide whether the news is accurate or bogus.
4. Is the news current? Like canned goods on the shelf, news has expiration dates. Do everything in your power
to get the updated version of the news.
5. What's the purpose of the video? To embarrass, to outrage, or simply coddle or tickle the funny bones of a certain
group of people?

LOL How about when Olivia Culpo won and the hosts were American? Also, how about when USA won several crowns already and the owner was also from the US? did the world question Miss Universe's credibility?

It appears Olivia Culpo has beaten out two Filipinas on the Universe stage.

In 2012 she beat a Filipina to win the Universe title.

In 2023 she beat out a former Filipina Universe winner for the main stage.

It appears Olivia will be hosting the main stage. Catriona will be on the sidelines in the background.
