Every year it seems that some girls miss the cut. It is often a head scratchier. I missed the cut every year when I competed for Miss Mississippi USA except I did win Miss Congeniality one year. Anyway, why do you think this Caribbean Goddess missed the cut in 2005? I just watched her performances on Youtube and she had wonderful stage presence. Her closeup video was personable and she came off as likeable. If I recall that year T&T did place. She was nowhere near the level of beauty of this girl. So what are your thoughts? Why do you think Antigua and Barbuda missed the cut in 2005?

MAYBE SASH FACTOR,OR INTERVIEW NOT WOW,TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO WAS A GREAT POWERHOUSE BEFORE.
MISS UNIVERSE LEBANON IN 2005 WAS REALLY STUNNING AND GREAT DELEGATE IN THAT TIME,SHE WAS BETWEEN THE BEST DELEGATES,NOW SHE IS A GREAT ACTRESS.

Trinidad had a sash factor back in that era and well Magdalene Walcott was not facially as pretty as Antigua she was a pageant veteran. Finalist at Miss World and Miss Universe. Sadly the smaller Caribbean countries need some coaching.

I remember rooting for her at Miss Universe. We can only speculate what happened and why she clapped that year. I wish they live stream the preliminary interviews as well like in Miss Earth.
My speculation is she actually placed in the top 15 but have to be replaced by one of Trump choices. They always say "Prior to our show, a separate panel of judges viewed all of our contestants in a preliminary competition. Their votes along with the members of Miss Universe Organization determined who will make tonight's first cut".

I remember she was miles ahead of Maggie and I totally agree with you in that top 15 there were many girls that were not facially strong in comparison the Antigua but it's the compare the black girl to the black girl shit. Indonesia was not pretty, nor was usa, didnt care for PR either.

There should not be any reserve spots so your statement really does not make sense. The sash factor thing is annoying because underserving placements happen constantly and Miss Univers at the time was not regional so not sure why there should only be one spot for the Caribbean.

Shermain Jeremy won the Talent fast track at Miss World 2004 but the selection of Miss World 2004 was based on popularity votes rather than the merits of the competition by the judges. So we don't know how potential Shermain was during the time at Miss World 2004 solely based on regular voters & pageant fans' mind but she failed to made it to the Final 5.
Things different at Miss Universe, as I said two different pageants two different standards in choosing the winner. Maybe Miss Antigua & Barbuda Org. was too complacent that Shermain would impressed the preliminary judges and MUO to make it to the Top 15 but she ended up as clapper. Maybe the reason why lots of Miss World placers later ended up as Miss Universe clappers due to the influence of MUO votes but Ada Dela Cruz, Yendi Phillips, Patricia Rodriguez, Olivia Jordan, Catriona Gray, Maeva Coucke, Andrea Meza & Julia Gama made the cut at Miss Universe despite they were placed at Miss World before due strong sash?

Some of them do this nonsense all the time and it's easy to spot it.........but then they come with the (stop pulling the race card argument) EVERY TIME. And I won't be surprised if MORE jump on the bandwagon with this argument as a DEFENSE.
They also do the COMPARE the (best Asian) to and think everyone will be clueless.........and it's MORE than just a geographically regional comparison, which is one of the MOST common/OLD arguments.
Anway......I liked Puerto Rico WAYYYY more than Canada (beautywise). But Canada's performance was great overall so she deserves credit.

Miss Antigua and Barbuda made it to the Top 15 at Miss World because she won Talent fast track but she did not make it to the Final 5 because the selection of Miss World 2004 was based on the popular votes from the pageant fans & non-pageant minded voters rather than votes from Madam Julia & the judges. At Miss Universe 2005, she was judged by the preliminary judges and MUO but she was unable to pull Miss Turks and Caicos' stellar performance at Miss Universe 1987 and she was unable to secure votes from MUO staff, so she ended up as clapper at Miss Universe 2005.
