The New Normal: Being Inclusive Is In

Postby Prozac » Tue Jun 29, 2021 11:23 pm

The new normal in pageantry nowadays is being inclusive. So it is not politically correct when you say America
should send only whites, or the Philippines will ban half-breeds from joining, or Miss Universe needs to reexamine
their policy on trans. Being inclusive has a similar meaning with these phrases: all-embracing, far-reaching, wide-ranging,
all in, broad-spectrum, large scale, open-minded, multiform, and all-around. For single terms, it meant diverse, tolerant,
heterogeneous, mixed, and eclectic.

Even in government especially America, they are increasingly focusing on the importance of diversity in any field,
and this is done to see to it that the needs and the aspirations and the ideals of everybody is reflected in service delivery
and their policies. If you check the roster of the House of Representatives you will see an amalgam of ethnicity running
the show - Cubans, Somalian, Korean, Filipinos, Indians, Whites Hispanics, and Blacks.

Even Hollywood is joining the bandwagon. If you notice, movies that are being dished to us has an admixture and a
mishmash of Whites, Blacks, Hispanic, and Asians in the cast. It looked like it becomes a code of conduct for everyone.
It even becomes like a covenant, an obligation, a pact so everyone is happy and content.

Google said: Inclusive growth is crucial not only for a fairer society but also for a stronger economy. Income gaps between
the rich and the poor have widened, and these inequalities undermine economic growth and strain the relationship between
government and citizens. Countries are searching for new ways to improve living standards, while sharing the benefits of
growth more evenly across all groups in society. In responding to the challenge of inclusive growth, the public sector has
an important role to play, with respect to the inclusiveness of the public sector itself, the inclusiveness of policy-making
processes, and the inclusiveness of the outcomes that governments seek to promote.

Going back to pageantry, these are the faces who will later become poster models of inclusivity and tolerance stemming
out from all-embracing policies made by pageant organizers worldwide.

1, Victoria Salcedo - No hands and left leg but has now joined Miss Ecuador 2021. She had an accident involving a high Voltage
cable.

Image

2. Kataluna Enriquez - A Filipino American transwoman. She joined Miss Nevada 2021 and is now on her way to Miss USA
2021.

Image

3. Pablo Dos Santos - A Venezuelan who was a victim of mugging and an accident resulting in the amputation of his leg. He
joined Mr. Venezuela Supranational 2021 and was First Runner Up.

Image

4. Juan Carlos Cabrera - A Peruvian who was deaf. His hearing impairment did not stop him from joining Man of the World
2018 and his goal was to encourage all handicapped people to show they still have the power to do more.

Image

5. Angela Ponce - She came from Spain and is the first intersex candidate who dreamt of crossing over female pageantry.
She joined Miss World Cadiz, Miss World Spain 2015 and Miss Universe Spain in 2019.

Image

So what about you guys? What can you say about the major changes that is shaping to be the new normal in pageantry?
Are you in favor of these too all-inclusive policies or you have reservations? Does skin color affect your stringent criterion
for beauty? Does trans makes you feel uncomfortable and does it defied your opinion about the essence of being a woman?
And how about the physically handicapped? Drop a line or two and let us hear your inner thoughts and feelings.

If that's the case,(my friend was asking me) why do they keep on stripping crowns from winners who suddenly got pregnant?
If she can handle the work and the responsibility that goes with it, let her finish the term. She further said, "If we can be
tolerant with trans... by all means, pregnant winners need to be included in the umbrella of inclusivity.

DOES SHE HAVE A POINT, GUYS?

I just want you to know that I voted already with your survey.

By the way, I made a research on Keylyn Trajano about her sexuality, but so far the effort was futile. The search engines
did not produce any concrete results. All I see were comments from readers some saying she is trans, others say she is
a hermaphrodite. But how sure are they?

If I will see any admission on her part that she is this and that, I would gladly include her in the thread complete with
photos.

I watch her video Who Am I? I am Keylyn ... hoping to get answers from this nagging controversy, but so far the video
was just some sort of introduction on who she was and what she is doing, and what she intends to do. So I tried to watch
this video thinking I can smell some nuances or shades of what others are insinuating but what I saw is a beautiful woman,
very articulate and effective communicator.

And if there is more to this than meets the eye? Then let's wait as her story unfolds ...

Here is her video"

If we always insist on inclusivity then pageants should not have limits on age so any single woman 18 yrs and above (regardless of age) should be able to join pageants. Do you want to see a 60 yrs old Miss Universe in the future?

You brought up a very good point. This 2021 we saw a lot of girls turning 29 whose dreams were crushed because
they were a year older than what is required. A good example was Vickie Rushton and our hearts go out to her
when she said something like, "I was a little sad knowing this is the end of my pageant journey."

Indeed, what she said was almost tangible ... nay palpable, like many other queens past 28 years old can relate to
that gnawing feeling inside. Aya Abesamis share the same feeling. as she is one of those queens who won but was not
able to compete.

There's much more to life than the burden of failed dreams. Life is a presence of “now” moments. I would have liked just one chance for these girls to make it all count.

There are young moms there who can handle both... Transgenders can't get pregnant, so in that aspect alone, they are already in advantage. They can have multiple sex partners without fear of being pregnant, which real women had to be extremely careful of.

If a young mom cannot handle taking care of kids, then why the hell join pageants? But if a young mom says that she can, then by all means, she should be allowed to join. She does not need to win, she just needs to be there!

I don’t think she can take care of both duty and her young child(ren) at the same time. If she wins MW, she has to travel around the world nonstop. It’s not easy to bring a young child with her. If she wins Miss Universe, she has to live in a New York apartment for a whole year. Trust me, if you were a mom, you wouldn’t want to separate from your child for a week, let alone a whole year. To me, if she sacrifices the precious time with her young baby just for the Miss Universe/MW crown, she doesn’t deserve to be a mother. No organization would want to crown that kind of women.

Well of course they still won't accept single mother or over the age women, because motherhood and age diminish a woman's "market value". This (selective) inclusivity enema by these companies/orgs is just a marketing ploy to appear goodie-goodie to the clueless public!!! =O/ ~X( >:D<

IBA PA RIN ANG FRESH.

KAHIT AKO, KUNG MAGTATAYO AKO NG SARILING PAGEANT, MAS GUGUSTUHIN KO NA LANG NA ISAMA ANG TRANSGENDER WOMEN SA BIOLOGICAL WOMEN KESA MAG-INCLUDE NG MARRIED WOMAN OR SINGLE MOTHER.

Young moms are not allowed to join pageants because they can’t take care of their children during their reigns. As mothers, they should prioritize their children.

Trust me, there are young moms out there who can handle it. They don't have to win. Isn't there an interview portion in the pageant that could gauge her capacity to handle the job? If the org thinks that she can handle the responsibility, then she might win. Why are you already under the impression that she HAS TO WIN? Come on! Majority of the girls from Europe join Miss World and Miss Universe with no intention to win, anyway... [-X

You lost me at “they don’t have to win”. What is the point of competing if they don’t want to win?

Ask them, not me! Many girls just go to pageants for experience, for the free travel, for the fun. Gal Gadot has an answer to that! Google it!

If they have children, they shouldn’t sacrifice the bonding time with their children for some free travel or fun. Those girls who don’t have to win or don’t want to win should not be allowed to compete in their nationals let alone Miss Universe/Miss World. Time, money and effort are invested into them and they say “I don’t want to win. I just join for fun”. For single and no-strings-attached girls, it sounds reasonable for wanting some fun but for mothers, what is the point of abandoning their children just for some pageant fun =;))

I want to extend age limit up to 31. I mean teens don't win this pageant anymore anyway.
