The poor girl CRIED, almost sobs, because of the hate from her fellow countrymen. This is a completely embarrassing moment for her and for the Philippines, because the toxic fandom culminates in what you saw last night. The amount of unnecessary pressure placed on her is beyond ridiculous.
You also see it here, where threads are made just to bash candidates to stir up drama.
Nobody is "jealous" that Rabiya is being spoken about, people are speaking about the toxicity that comes with the fandom.
Shade is expected, bashing to the point of making girls cry is not.
Some of y'all should reflect on that.
I have said my piece and I am not taking my words back.
Miss Universe is a brand, it is business, and it needs to earn money. It's no longer (just) about humanitarian causes whatsoever, it's about endorsements and profit. It benefits when people talk about it, that's why Miss Universe wants a winner who will bring the organization to the spotlight.
I think Miss Universe was very quiet last year. So it needs to come back this year with a BANG! It needs to bounce back as the MOST PRESTIGIOUS AND COVETED INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT! It needs to stay RELEVANT even during this pandemic.
Damn, you really are sick.
