Hope the only girl whose beauty tips the GODDESS scale (MINOR/DEMI or BABY GODDESS) from this batch will get REDEMPTION. She is Brazil’s Gislaine Ferreira. The next girl in BEAUTY SCALE is already in the SUPERBEAUTY league.
My favorite that year was SOUTH AFRICA’s Cindy Nell.

Oh, I wasn't following back then. Keep in mind that I didn't have Internet till 2007 and pageants are not that popular here, I don't know if that was ever shown on Greek TV.
Amelia Vega's my favorite Miss Universe so I bet she would still be my winner but with 1st runner-up Brazil, not Venezuela (not a fan).
I also think that Greece deserved a higher placement and Mexico a spot in the top 15.

Don't worry, I'll post photos and videos for all those who don't know the girls to start to know them a little bit, just if we were following the coverage back then!
I think Amelia has big chances of winning the whole thing but I think she needs to watch out because girls like Serbia, Brazil, South Africa, Czech Republic, Greece, Peru, etc... could easily steal her crown.
In my opinion there are tons of girls who didn't place that year who deserved their placement. Keep an eye on: Argentina, Australia, Israel, Spain, Mexico, Slovak Republic, Italy, Turkey, etc... I think they are as strong as some girls who actually made the cut!

As I am not yet a pageant enthusiast that time, I am still probably crawling and learning to walk. I will only rely on the pictures/photos in this thread. Familiar names were Amelia Vega of course, the tallest and one of the prettiest Miss Universe ever and Susie Castillo.
So far, I'm liking South Africa and Turkey!

The girls already arrived to Panama City! They have had long flights from all over the world but they're finally together to compete for the Miss Universe 2003 crown. They all were welcomed by Panama City's authorities and also for all the fans, who gathered to receive the queens and give them their support and love. Despite the hours of flight and fatigue all the girls were seen to enjoy the Welcome Dinner. The only missing contestant was Venezuela, who still hasn't arrived to Panama. Here you can see the gorgeous contestant during the Welcome Dinner and at their arrival to the Convention Center. Who do you think looked the best...?
All the contestants (but Venezuela) together for the first time
Girls from Jamaica, Japan, South Africa, Spain & Sweden during the opening speeches
Girls from Switzerland, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago & Ukraine at the stage
Serbia & Montenegro, Singapore, Slovak Republic & Slovenia pose for the press
Girls from Thailand and Chinese Taipei photographed during the dinner
Here are the girls as they were received in the Convention Center:

This was the first year I followed religiously via the internet the pageant’s preliminary activities of Miss Universe, though I started following a pageant online intermittently in 2002 (the year Oxana won) .
I know that Amelia had the bitchy reputation in the Miss Universe 2003 leading up to finals. MUO tamed her during her reign. She became a better person. I will judge this contest according to what I knew back then and will try to ignore the actual results if I judge them.

Great! Yes, that's the point. Let's try to be the most objective. Anyway as eventually the simulator will generate the result there can always be surprises! ABout Personality and Walk style, personally I will judge them also for what they project in their pictures, because it's difficult to find interview and stuff... anyway you can smell who has a good personality and who hasn't... The walk style the same, although I will post the Preliminary Competition footage I find, but I won't just focus on that performance because they easily could have done it better if ever they made the Top 15... I don't know, I guess everything depends on who's judging, different judging panel different result... Because honestly there are some girls who missed the cut that I really think should have made it

hahaha don't worry, in a few days you'll already know them! I already voted (because I have all the information and wanted to be the first to do it so I don't get carried away by the rest) and it takes time, so you better wait until you know the girls very well and then vote!
I'm sharing my first Top 15 prediction in a while!

You are trully a Game Master. I'll check this thread in my laptop tomorrow so that I can study each candidates carefully.
I have no idea about the candidates. I started following pageants way back 2012. I'm excited to judge them based on my own preference

It’s good to be exposed to the worldwideweb/internet early on. Some countries and lots of people didn’t know Yet how the internet works at that time Hahaha Even if it was introduced in the US in 1996.
I was still a student that time and students had to keep up with TECHNOLOGY LOL!

I LOVE THIS!!!!! This is very exciting! Thank you MissSimUniverse!
Technically it will be the first pagant I'd followed (if we feel this is 2003 all over again) since I was only 11 when it happened and the first pageant I actually followed was 2009.
I think the difficult part will be ignoring the actual results and everything we know now and try to do as if it's the first time we're getting to know the girls.
Based on the official pictures, they should all be eliminated for wearing those tacky gowns hahaha I'm sorry I can't with 2000's fashion and I find hard to believe that was considered stylish.
So far I'm liking Serbia, Panama and South Africa.
Can't wait for more pictures of events!

Finished voting! What a great idea. Went back and watched some clips of the Preliminary Competition.. felt like an actual judge. 2003 was the first pageant I watched, so this is really nostalgic!
