Will we ever see a double crowner in our lifetime?

Postby stuff » Fri Apr 16, 2021 5:13 pm

We had girls who competed in Both Miss World and Miss Universe.

There are girls who lost Miss World then wins Miss Universe later.
There are girls who lost Miss Universe then Miss Universe later.

But when a Girl who won Miss Universe competed at Miss World she clapped. Vice versa.....

Is a double winner going to exist in our lifetime?

I had seen people who won three different reality shows.

It seemed like Pageants allows girls who lost their rival pageants win but wont allow girls who won before another win.

Ticket is sold out from Ticketmaster for Miss Universe in May. Just 15 minutes since they open up the sale, nothing can be bought anymore.

I know girls who lost in Miss World and then won in Miss Universe. (example : Catriona)

But I don't know if there are girls who lost in Miss Universe and then won in Miss World.

Please specify if there's any...

I posted this one in the past but lost at the another national pageant:
1. Miss International 1972 Linda Hooks competed at Miss United Kingdom 1974 (for Miss World) but she ended up unplaced.

2. Miss International 1986 Helen Fairbrother competed at Miss United Kingdom 1987 (for Miss World) less than one month before she relinquished her crown at Miss International 1987, but she only finished 2nd Runner Up and failed to become the first contestant to attempt the first double major (Big 5) titleholder in the history of beauty pageants.

So this was the first time that a outgoing Miss International titleholder concurrently competed at a national pageant. Helen was able to compete at Miss UK pageant despite she was the reigning titleholder (at that time).

3. Miss International 2014 Valerie Hernandez competed at Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018 but she withdrew at the last minute.

This one came close of competing at the upcoming 69th Miss Universe but withdrew few months after:
Miss Supranational 2015 Stephania Stegman initially appointed as Miss Universe Paraguay for 69th Miss Universe but forced to resign after she allegedly did not pay the license fee for the 69th Miss Universe. Her resignation caused NB Paraguay org to hold a emergency pageant to represent Paraguay at 69th Miss Universe but in a controversial way because the winner was allegedly registered at the last minute.

In recent memory only Lara Dutta and Priscilla Meirelles won both major and minor pageant titles.
Lara Dutta won Miss Intercontinental 1997 and Miss Universe 2000. Priscilla Meirelles won Miss Globe 2003 and Miss Earth 2004.

The closest to double win in recent memory was Tessa le Conge who won Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 and finished in the Top 8 (as co runners-up) at Miss Earth 2020.

Based on policies of the 4 major international pageant (Miss Universe,MW,MI,ME) once a girl wins a major international pageant she is not anymore eligible to win ANOTHER MAJOR international title.

In July of 1969. Eva Ruber-Staier of Austria was only a semi finalist in the Miss Universe '69. We all know that Gloria Diaz won that year while Eva
went on to win the Miss World in November. Helen Morgan representing Wales was adjudged as first runner-up to Amparo Munoz of Spain in 1974.
Again, she went on to win the Miss World title that November.

Well, technically it was achieved by Helen Morgan of Wales. As the 1st runner up in Miss Universe 1974, she was the only eligible girl to take over in case Amparo Muñoz of Spain could not fulfill her duty (which actually happened). She gave up her crown. But the only girl who could inherit the title, Helen Morgan, was also dethroned as Miss World 1974 few months before Amparo gave up her crown. Hence, they could not give it to Helen.

So, technically, Helen Morgan achieved this distinction but it has not become official due to to those events, ironically are also called ’technicalities’.

Welcome but I Just learned from the history of these 2 pageants.

It did not happen in my lifetimethough. So, to answer the threadstarter’s question: I don’t think it will happen in our lifetime.
