MISS UNIVERSE PHILIPPINES 2021
Beatrice Luigi Gomez (born February 23, 1995) is a Filipino model, athlete, military reservist, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021. She will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant in Eilat, Israel in December 2021.
Gomez studied at the University of San Jose–Recoletos and pursued a degree in Mass Communication. At the same time, she also became a volleyball player for the university. However, certain circumstances made her stop going to college.
In 2021, Gomez undergone the basic citizens military course training that allowed her to be part of the Philippine Navy Reserve Unit.
Miss Mandaue 2015
Her foray into the world of pageantry began in 2015 when she placed 2nd Runner-Up at the Miss Mandaue 2015 pageant.
Binibining Cebu 2020
Gomez represented San Fernando at the Binibining Cebu 2020 pageant and won the title succeeding Steffi Rose Aberasturi of Mandaue City. She also won the Best in Swimwear, Miss Foton, and Miss Body Worx Medical Spa awards.
Miss Universe Philippines 2021

On September 1, 2021, representing Cebu City, Gomez was confirmed as one of the thirty delegates that would compete for the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant.
During the question and answer portion of the Top 10 semifinalists, she was asked: "You are beautiful because of your bravery, because you are out and proud a member of the LGBTQIA community. Do you think the Philippines is ready to send a member from your community to the Miss Universe pageant?" She responded:
"I honestly believe that our country has definitely been in a long way in battling our fight for equality especially for the LGBTQIA+ community. Our country has been very supportive and I definitely think we are definitely ready to send someone, an LGBTQIA+ member to the Universe."
During the question and answer portion of the Top 5 finalists, she was asked: "If during your reign as Miss Universe Philippines things happen in your life that make you sad and uninspired, how would you be able to continue inspiring others?" She responded:
"It is very evident that all of us went through difficulties during this pandemic, but it is also proof that we are able to rise to the occasion. And if anything happened to me during my reign I will not give up and inspire others by rising to the problems that I am encountering and by inspiring them that whatever you're going through you will be able to overcome it."
At the end of the event, Gomez was crowned by the outgoing Miss Universe Philippines, Rabiya Mateo as Miss Universe Philippines 2021 along with the Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, Miss Creamsilk, and Miss Luxxe Immunplus Game Changer awards.
She made history as the first openly lesbian Miss Universe Philippines winner to compete in Miss Universe.
