Then we better call African nations to send quality and crown-worthy candidates. People must accept the reality that unlike some pageants who crown girls just to cater to their target markets (fanbase) such as Miss World Org., we expect MIO to follow their own beat, set their own pace and damn the trends. Never expect MIO to crown an African, a black one, just to ride the so called "black girl magic" or even to silence their bashers.

MI is quite known for that anyway. Last year's winner only had 3000 followers on Instagram before she won. She had beaten the heavy favorite from Mexico who already had more than 500,000 followers prior to arrival in Japan. Two of them in the Top 3 only had less 3000 or less followers. The MI judges are not informed who has a lot of followers or whatnot. It really depends on overall performance and the charisma.

What’s your take on Patch’s performance? Did her speech cost her the crown or a top 5 spot?

Not more ugly Zozi and Toni-Ann winners in pageantry, please!
