Huh, February 15? Looks like they're choosing earlier this year if true. Not that that's a bad thing, ME BiH used to be one of the last orgs. to crown/appoint their delegate. It seems like they have a new director anyway.
I suppose we'll see a different Serbian representative then since there was already one that supposedly named as ME Serbia a few months back:
SERBIA - Tamara Novakovic (U)

Isn't it that Drago Gavranovic is the ND of BiH, Montenegro and Croatia aside from Slovenia? Maybe he focuses now with Slovenia only?

Yeah, saw some posts about that too. I wasn't really thinking of bringing it up yet but since it is here now...
Anyway the rumor, if these posts are to believed and the Google Translation I got is accurate, is that MEO did not renew contracts with MEV because of some major scandals within the Gorrin Group where Globovision and thus, MEV, are part of. MEO then supposedly tried to contact Osmel with taking the franchise back but of course, he declined.
I know that rumors should not be taken as facts until further concrete evidence comes up but assuming this is even the least bit true, then what was MEO thinking giving the franchise to Osmel?! Of all people...

I am on the fence about this. What are those major scandal? If they’re “major scandal”, then we should have already known it now. I need some more info before commenting... it would be very unfair to all sides concerned if we comment or give some opinion about it when we are not even sure if it’s just really a rumor.

Well I did a bit of research with these scandals
The scandals actually concern Raul Gorrin, the president of Globovision. Apparently, he is directly implicated in Venezuela's many political and corruption cases and is said to be an associate of Nicolas Maduro. Recently, Gorrin has been sanctioned by the US government for his activities including bribery, and money laundering done through US banks and real estate. As such, both he and Globovision are now listed in the US' Specially Designated Nationals And Blocked Persons List or SDN.
On MEV's case, it seems like it is more of their association with Gorrin that makes problems for them especially since their show is directly under Globovision. Although there could be more to the story that we're yet to know.
No comment with that thing with MEO and Osmel though. I really hope that it did not actually come to that. Besides, I'd rather have the franchise go with Isler, Aguilera and co. at the MVO than in anything with Osmel if it comes to that point.

Handsama wrote:Osmel is hurting, guys. He’s turned bitter and resentful. He just said some not so nice things about Miss Universe and IMG because the latter must have turned down his offer to take the franchise back. I believe the rumors being perpetrated by those around him with regards him turning down an offer by the MEO is their way of telling his followers that Osmel remains relevant.
But it’s hard to believe the MEO would do something like that after Osmel dissed them previously. In the many years I’ve followed Miss Earth, I’ve never seen Carousel get desperate for franchises. In fact, it’s the opposite...they’re the ones who let go of franchises who failed to live up to their expectations.
