Lupita: On a personal level, I do not agree either. I do not think that the competition is taking place under equal circumstances. They say that she is to be respected as another competitor, but from the get-go she isn't, because she is entering the competition with a different label, a label that makes a difference with the other contestants. In Mexico, all these requirements are still not met 100% due to the laws in our country. While the legislation is not a 100% with the guidelines of Miss Universe, they will not be accepted.
She was asked if she thinks her opinion may be discriminatory against the LGBT community and this is what she had to say:
Everyone feels discriminated against. Everything you say is used against you. I believe that since certain groups demand respect for their freedom of expression, heterosexuals also deserve the right to express our opinion.
BY THE WAY, I'm paraphrasing.
I'd like to know your opinion.
What do you guys think? Do you agree with her statement
As a former Miss Universe that she is, do you think she expressed herself well?
chellomellow wrote:Absolutely agree with her! I love how she isn't scared to share her honest opinion. One of the best queens of all times... BTW the World Health Organization (WHO) had listed 'transgender' as a mental illness... Then came the LGBTQIA+ outrage to get it removed. Even in medical health. it is becoming politically correct! That isn't right!

I agree with her 100% but for some of you to suggest being a transgender is due to mental illness is just.. ugh. This is why anyone who disagrees with transgenders competing in Miss Universe are automatically cataloged as transphobic.
A lot of you are gay, think of how many people to this day believe homosexuality is a mental illness when that’s just flat out wrong. And now you come around labeling transgenders in the same manner?
Let people do whatever the hell they want with their bodies and be respected for it. For me, the problem arises once people begin to suggest a transgender woman is the same as a woman.
Juan Sebastian wrote:I completely agree with her statement but she's just one of those people I cannot take seriously no matter what she says. I know this is unrelated but I remember when she licked Demi's ass so much when she went to Mexico a few months ago and was using "#unbreakable" for everything. Mexico you need to get rid of her, she's a spiteful old abusive woman who wants to be Mexico's only Miss Universe ever and is desperately trying to be relevant. Ximena is and will always outshine her and Lupita will always look like a joke every time she opens her mouth. I cannot wait to hear in a few months how she probably abused Andrea Toscano somehow in her Miss Universe prep.

I agree with chellomellow: it’s a mental illness!
It was proven by science.
Many trans are actually wanting their original sexes back.
They have unstable psyche, and it’s probably brought about by their upbringing.
It’s the same thing as a killer mind, they became serial killers because of what they experience early on in life...they may not notice about it even until it became their way of life.
The psychology of human brain is one of the most complex indeed.

I like Colombia’s answer better .
It’s more meaty .
Plus she said she respects Mr. Spain’s participation . Colombia doesn’t agree with the MUO but said stuff with grace .

The way she said heterosexuals should have the right of freedom of expression as if there are people who are threatening heterosexuals for speaking their minds. So out of touch. An #AllLivesMatter tea.

There’s no right or wrong answer here .
It’s how you would address the issue .
Lupita Jones was not talking about freedom , moral or social issues etc.
She’s talking about technicalities ... about labels and laws in Mexico .

She's wrong. Miss Universe is ultimately a TV show. It's entertainment, and it's bringing up an interesting and relevant topic.
Kudos to MUO.

No she wasn't. She was talking about Miss Universe. Then...she referred to Mexico and how it defers from Miss Universe.
What she's saying is that Miss Universe's approval of a transgender is in contrast to her country's laws.
Luckily, Miss Universe is an American organization.

Yeah, it's pretty laughable. But when you have very little to back up your stance, you try to portray yourself as the victim.
Her reason for not believing Spain should compete is pretty hollow. Every contestant who competes in Miss Universe has a label; the labels might be different but Miss Universe uses the same criteria to judge all the contestants.
The problem here is that this is a label Lupita disagrees with. She should just be honest and say it.

She has the same problem other ignorant people have: BEING OBSESSED WITH LABELS.
