When will their be another Black African Queen ?

Postby universus » Sat Jun 09, 2018 11:34 am

Africa has a lot of gorgeous exotic vixens

When will their be another lady to wow us all from this magnificent continent

Here are some queens from the past

Image

Bokang Montjane (South Africa) - Miss World Top 7
Agbani Darego (Nigeria) - Miss World
Leila Lopes (Angola) - Miss Universe
Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter (Ghana) - Miss World 2nd Princess

Image

I am betting on Kenya to finally clinch the crown during the pageant night :hx

They have had a very strong showing in pageants despite being inconsistent in sending delegates. They have great communication skills and strong stage presence

Mary Esther Were - Miss Universe Top 6 2016
Magline Jeruto - Miss World Top 5 2017
Eunice Oynango - Miss International 2nd RU 2014
Winfred Omwakwe - Miss Earth Air (later assumed title)

What about you guys and gals?
Are you rooting for any specific delegate or country from Africa this 2018??

Miss Universe had so many African beauties this last few years and many have been wasted
MW is the best Pageant for Black African Queens
MI is slowly trying to include Africans (unfortunately damage has been done since only few Africans join the pageant
ME is moving backwards they use to have African Goddesses in their court

In general, I'm rooting for black beauties, whether from Africa or elsewhere, to finally win ME. I agree it's really overdue :|

For the guy who said that countries like Ethiopia and Somalia don't take pageants seriously, we have to understand that those countries that you mentioned are busy focusing on larger problems within their country especially Somalia which I think is still recovering from internal issues. The area of Sudan and South Sudan similarly have many internal and external issues to deal with but models like Duckie Thot and Alek Wek trace their origins there.

Anyway as far as overall pageant performance goes, South Africa and Kenya are the ones to follow up to in Africa with Angola not too far behind I think. South Sudan has a number of placements in MW too I remember.

I'd also add Tanzania's Miriam Odemba to your list of African beauties. She represented her country at ME'08 where she got Miss Air. I believe she's now based in France as a model and is often seen attending the Cannes Film Festival.

Don’t you dare accuse Miss Earth of being racist [-X . The real issue is the quality of delegates that come from the African continent. You ought to know since you were an ex-Earthling. You’ve followed the pageant closely. Sure they were awesome Earth warriors but they lack the necessary preparation when compared to the women from the other continents... though no fault of their own as their orgs may not have the budget to help them train.

And yet Carousel makes sure that Africa places all the time via its continental quota which itself has been criticized by fans and which Miss Universe adapted recently. Many worthy delegates from other continents had been wasted to ensure that Africa is represented during the finals. But the problem is that...once they start competing with the other women on stage (especially from the Americas), they get outshone.

Maybe racist was a harsh term. What I really meant was black beauties are not as well celebrated ESPECIALLY in MI and ME (being Asian-owned pageants).

Also I was a Miss Earth fan, (and I still don't really hate it, I just choose not to follow last year's winner's reign coz then I can't help but want to bash, so it's better to be ignorant at this point), Pero hindi ako kasali sa Earthlings cult noh!! hehe...

Such a wasted goddess. It would've been more acceptable if the judges crowned Odemba instead of Henry in 2008 and Seifert becomes the first Asian and Filipina Miss Earth.

So essentially you’re saying that Asians discriminate against blacks by ignoring them. I can’t speak for MI as I don’t know much about its history. But I’ve never seen Carousel treat the black delegates any less that it treats the others. Everyone is given equal exposure during the pre-pageant activities. In fact, it’s in other pageants where the black delegates, especially the women from Africa, seem to disappear into the background once the pageant begins.

In ME 2017, three women of color made it into the top 16. In the just concluded MEP, the two women of color made it very far and one of them won an elemental crown. So how can you say that blacks aren’t as well celebrated at Miss Earth. Just because no one has won the main crown yet? Should Carousel then manipulate the results to let a woman of color win just for show?

ME had many stunning black girls place in the past few years because of its continental placements but recently black girls get booted out early in the competition. I think the 2 berths given to them at Miss Earth is not enough. I also think that Miss Earth Favors a few countries more (e.g. Philippines (which had many questionable placements), Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela) My heart still bleeds for Miss Angola Last Year

Still ME and MW seems to be the pageants ready to crown a black girl :hx

This is the problem with Miss Earth they can't seem to time the win of Philippine Contestants. I know they are trying to be fair but they are inconsistent. Sometimes its about Q and A Sometimes its not. I hope they do at least a final look after the Interview so that they would crown someone with beauty and brains.

I WOULD SUGGEST THAT FOR TOP4, THERE MUST BE A FINAL LOOK AND ASSESSMENT, PICKING THE WINNER MUST NOT ONLY BE BASED ON Q AND A. BUT THEN, THE JUDGES WERE NOT WRONG IN CHOOSING KATHERINE AND KAREN. THEY ARE REALLY PASSIONATE AND GREAT EARTH QUEENS. =O/ =O/

ME should just follow the criteria used in this year's MEPh and the selection process should just be the ones they used back in 2016. :=p

Great! A final look would be a better addition. In 2017, the Top 8 paraded in their yellow/gold dresses. I think MEO can put that part after the Q and A of Top 4 wherein all four girls would parade in one color gowns.

Katherine and Karen were great queens since they embody the cause of the pageant. However, Carousel could never go wrong in crowning a goddess that is not so eloquent, but is passionate in taking care the environment (Tereza in 2012). Having a goddess winner like in 2012 would be a both win-win situation to the supporters and to the pageant's image.

Such a wasted goddess. It would've been more acceptable if the judges crowned Odemba instead of Henry in 2008 and Seifert becomes the first Asian and Filipina Miss Earth.

YOU DON'T NEED TO MANIPULATE THE SCORE! YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE THE COMPETITION MORE A PAGEANT THAN A QUIZ BEE =O/

This is my problem with Miss Earth. I still support it, but the selection process is confusing as hell. There is a time wherein the best pre-pageant performers would be in then the following year, the continental format will be followed. Same in choosing the winner. One time they will be choosing a stunning, but not so eloquent winner then the following year, they'll crown an eloquent, but not so stunning winner. It's really confusing actually. It would be better if they'll follow Miss Universe's criteria that the winner MUST be a good speaker, but also universally beautiful.

It is not considered cheating if you orient the judges that you want a stunning and good speaker queen.

Genesis Davila should pack all her bags and go to Kenya asap.

I don't think other girls were less passionate and this pageant should at least think more before they choose a winner. They need an ambassador who can better represent the women of the earth. Karen winning is done but next time they should consider other countries who can serve.

For all we know her ancestors are originally from Kenya or Djibouti or Burkina Faso or any African nation for that matter.
