Crowning moment is the most memorable moment of the titleholder.
People don't really interested in Miss Universe's activity during the reign.
So, the pageant gives excitement but reign doesn't really give excitement.
That's why it looks like fading to some of the people.

Is Demi fading? What's the question for when she just started her reign and not even half way there?
Let's admit it, a queen's popularity mostly depends on her nation's support...What do you expect for South Africans? They don't give a damn about pageants Demi is literally depending on Miss Universe's fanbase and her personal/International fans in which if you'll look at it..she's actually doing a pretty GOOD job! Her IG followers blossomed from 200k+ to atm 1M followers! And I assume only small amount of it are from her home nation. If Demi is a Pinoy or Latina she'll definitely be in the front view 24/7 and She'll need not to prove much since the (hometown)fans will make noise for her.

In South Africa we embrace all our queens, regardless of which title they bring home!! In all fairness, Demi`s homecoming was actually a much bigger affair that that of Rolene...

As a South African I can honestly say we do ``give a damn`` about our queens!! I don`t understand why you see it fit to make assumptions about South Africans and our support for Demi - just because this site is not swamped by South Africans does not mean we don`t support her!! She gets plenty of support from her fan base in South Africa and we are immensely proud of her achievements!! We are following her with great pride and interest.

Pia hosted the event during her reign. Even NFL players wanted a piece of her hahahah.

She didn’t host the SuperBowl.. she got a reporter gig for Inside Edition but she didn’t “host” the SuoerBowl. There’s no hosts in the SuoerBowl this isn’t an awards show.

No one is opening anything . Ha ha
That's freak'n hilarious .

Hun, you're totally missing my point here Of course South Africans are proud of Demi...what's the reason not to? Plus, I'm talking about a "majority-basis" don't tell me majority of South Africans knows her? It's a different case if you go to the Philippines - EVEN A 5 year old KNOWS PIA The essence of my comment lies in the fact that Demi's followers in South Africa cannot catapult her to "International" limelight since it's not enough in number( Maybe enoug is SA but not Internationally). I even made a comparison when a Pinay or Latina is crowned as a queen...the girl is always on the limelight 24/7 due to her nation's humongous fanbase. You can eliminate Paulina and Pia's foreign supporters and their followers will still be huge! But then again as I said, Demi is doing a good job as Miss Universe..she's gaining fans day by day.
