APPOINTMENT FOR MISS UNIVERSE INDIA 2018!

Postby firerprince » Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:57 pm

Rumor mills that Miss India organization is planning to designate a girl for this year's Miss Universe pageant to be held in a date and venue to be announced. These two beautiful women are PRIYADARSHINI CHATTERJEE Miss World India 2016 & KOYAL RANA Miss World India 2014. They are the candidates that were chosen to make a designation to the Miss Universe pageant this year (in case the organization in India does it) one of them would be Miss Universe India 2018. Talking about Miss Diva 2018 the winner will have a 1 year preparation and will compete in Miss Universe 2019.
Courtesy of: Roadtomissuniverse

.....

The rumor is leaning more towards Priyadarshini. Priya mentioned in her IG story something about a conversation between her and Catriona about the latter's plan in joining Bb.Pilipinas months ago. Priya's IG is also full of comments hyping her to join Miss Universe India pageant. Are these the signs? We'll find out soon.

Koyal on the other hand would be a great choice too! I "personally" prefer her for this year and Priya in 2019.

With the current situation of India in Miss Universe, It would be reasonable for them to go for this action. :-P
Goodluck India!

.

Miss Universe franchise is so expensive. They even failed with Urvashi despite being a superstar (and a super beauty), and she still has more IG followers than Pia even up to now.

Why not send Koyal to Miss International, instead? She is the kind of Miss India that MIO is looking for! And if no one believes me, then, India will forever be missing the cut in the third most important pageant in the world!

At times, I even fancy the idea of having Urvashi as Miss International India! That would be explosive!!!

I concur on that Koyal or/and Urvashi could win MI for India. The Indians MUST realized now that their main problem for not winning MI is not really due to MIO's alleged racism against India or that MIO do not want to crown an Indian as five of the country's representatives almost won the crown for India. Rather the problem stems on the fact that India usually sent the wrong type of girls on MI.

I had a long conversation with the owner of Miss International last December. She invited me for a dinner, and yes, she is aware of the complaints from Indians. She is aware of the fact that Indians are accusing MI for being "anti-Indian"... Well, the ftruth is, Akemi Shimomura only became the owner of MI in 2013. Is there any Indian delegate who was worthy to be crowned since 2013? Jhataleka would have been the closest to that, but unfortunately she wore a horrible evening gown!

Like what Akemi Shimomura told me... "Indians are not being discriminated at Miss International. If they send someone who is worthy of our standard, there is no reason to ignore a Miss India. I just don't like when they keep on sending very thin girls. It's not our standard."

So there!

Yes ! The appointment is on cards but nothing is confirmed as of yet.. FEMINA is weighing every other possibility to re-strategize the Miss Universe formula.. The primary reason for their failure being inability to adopt the IMG requirements and the biggest of all, LACK OF TIME for the winner..
Miss Supranational India 2018 will most likely be handpicked as well if Miss Universe India 2018 is elected..
Apart from this change, I, too, want Femina to take up Miss International.. If anyone can get that elusive crown to India, its FEMINA..

Koyal is overrated to me, very pretty but no X factor for the universe. While Priya, on the other hand though still raw and may need couple of years for the packaging, is a standout, the kind of X-factor she exudes reminds me of queens like Natasha Suri. She'll make an impact. Still both girls are far better than recent girls sent to Miss Universe.

I agree!

Koyal is perfect for Miss International!

She would have a hard time in Miss Universe considering her communication skills in MW2014. Better send Priya in Miss Universe.

So there!

Am I missing something? Miss International is a beauty pageant, most pageants crown thin girls. Wouldn't all the Miss International winners be considered thin? Certainly none of them could have been considered chubby.

Is she not thin?

That was 2015 honey!!! After 2015, there has been renewed regulations in Europe and also in Japan (considering that Japan is just as rich as most European countries), to discourage the use of thin women as models. And Japan, being an obedient country that it is, subscribes to this standard. So, it is the same with Miss Paris WASPA, the spa company owned by Akemi Shimomura. I'm telling you now! This year, all the girls will be measured in the Tokyo branch of Miss Paris WASPA, so that they can start weeding out the girls who just don't fit the physical standard. After that, comes the judging of their personalities.

Oh so that is the reason why they crowned Indonesia. She's a bit chubby in the face, and not a girl with some abs.

Kevin was crowned because she slayed everyone with that gown! Her speech was also just as good, so it was only a matter of formality to crown her.
Remember, Miss Laos also had the same facial profile and body structure as Kevin. But Miss Laos failed to enter the Top 5 because she screwed up in the speech round. Miss Australia won Best Body in 2017 is already an indication that the standard has changed!
And if you also go back to 2016, Kylie also did not have a slim figure. In fact, Kylie would even joke at me as to how big her arms were. But that's not an issue in Japan, although it was for her.

Poor India they've been clapping for straight 3 years in a row. India needs to step up for their game. Send someone who is not just articulate but with winning attitude. They are still stuck in 90's formula. Wake up INDIA.

Wow I didn't know that my fellow Indians accused MIO of racism. Because India has done fairly well at MIO, we have had several runner ups and usually it's only luck and taste that separates winner from runner up.
The problem I think here is that MIO has a mould, you have to fit that image in order to become miss International. And in India we have only recently started training girls for miss world and universe separately, and the training for miss universe is still suffering. Either MIO should break their mould or someone should start training Indian girls exclusively for MI.

I was actually surprised when the topic about India was brought up. Apparently, this issue has been on the discussion table for quite some time, but the MI judging system is always based on votes. There is NO WAY they gonna manipulate the result in order to gain fame or to "ride on" with the popularity of one contestant. Take for example in 2015, when the overhyped Janicel Lubina of the Philippines did not even enter the Top 5, despite the fact that numerous Japanese media had her marked as the one to beat. In 2016, before the coronation night, the delegates from Venezuela and Colombia had more IG followers than Kylie and Felicia, but both clapped during the finals. It is only later when Kylie's followers exploded to exponential quantity, after she won the contest.
Being with MI for quite some time, and having the opportunity to sit and have an audience with the owner, I have to say that India is one country that they really want to do well in the MI system. But Japanese are just too honest and fair. They know their desire, but they will not submit to that desire through cheating. So for India, just send someone like Koyal, or send Koyal herself! I am telling you... she is the ONE!

Priya had very little training for Miss World because she got really sick after her crowning. She has got the looks and the wits, just the packaging has to be done right.

Koyal was Miss India in 2014 and she is 25 now, she must be busy with her life, her appointment is very unlikely.
