Philippines in Reina Hispanoamerica

Postby jm2hottie17 » Sat Sep 09, 2017 2:22 pm

I'm confused as to why we are sending a delegate in this pageant. No offense meant naman sa mga supporter ni wynwyn. Kung ibang pageant yan confident naman ako na may laban si ate girl mo kaso Mali talaga in a way we are not even a latin american country. Though may nakikita ako na post na we've been colonized by the spaniards. Is that even an enough reason to join in this pageant kahit ung representative doesn't have a latin heritage. Please enlighten me @-) @-)

According to WIKIPEDIA, Reina Hispanoamerica is an "annual beauty pageant celebrating Hispanic heritage, language and culture".

In the same article, it is stated that "the Philippines (a former Spanish colony for three centuries with significant cultural ties to Latin America and Spain)" - this is the reason why we are joining in 2017, for the first time.

Reina Hispanoamericana is a beauty pageant celebrating Hispanic heritage, language and culture.

The Philippines being a former Spanish colony for three centuries with significant cultural ties to Latin America and Spain will now be included in the pageant's 26th year.

We may not be hispanic but if you will look carefully in our culture and tradition, the influence of Spain is very much present thus PH is now part of the pageant.

One things for sure though, our girls name will not be out of placr. Except we send a halfie.
Everything is so finite. But don't you think that that's what makes our time, at specific moments, so important?

This pageant is fiercer than Miss Universe. Miss Universe 2016 1st runner up Miss Haiti only managed to place 4th. Wyn will look like a little shrimp beside other contestants

To the ONE who asked why we are eligible to join the pageant I only have two questions:
1. Did you study and pass PHILIPPINE HISTORY?
2. Were you able to purchase COMMON SENSE? it's not too late it's always on sale so go grab a few because you will need tons of them when you are growing up and facing the challenges in this world.

And to the ONE who belittled WynWyn she wasn't given that name if she was born a loser. She may not have the height but her poise, beauty, communication skills and catwalk are more than enough to stand TALLER than the glamazons!

ANY OTHER REMARKS? che at CHE CHE CHE!

Cite me a law that prohibits Filipinas from being invited; or a law that will bar Filipino candidates from competing. Then you can start talking.

If prior contractual agreement has been concluded formally, that makes the agreement legally binding between the two signatories. We're not even talking about the official invitation or by Philippine participation as a business proposition to begin with. Neither are we talking about the forthcoming event as a vehicle of entertainment for pageant enthusiasts nor a platform of empowerment and recognizing deserving girls to claim their rightful place under the sun!

Why are you acting so negative?

According to Winwyn an invitation was extended by Reina Hispanoamericana to the Philippines.

We should ask the organization then and not Arnold Vegafria why they want a candidate from the Philippines, if that satisfies your curiosity.

Yes, it's fiercer, but IMG's Miss Universe looks for a different type of winner, so the analogy using Haiti does not apply.

Of the winners in Miss Philippines World, Winwyn is the fiercest, so she'd be the best candidate to send. I don't expect her to be treated well by the catty Latina bitches she'll be competing with (and I'm sure the bitches would feel threatened that new powerhouse Philippines is now encroaching into "their" territory), but no pageant could now be considered "big" without the presence of the Philippines (just look at what happened to Supranational after Mutya's win), so these bitches simply have to live with Winwyn's presence -- and highly likely placement.

Winwyn is not tall at all, but she's sexy, articulate, and hungry for a crown, so I'm sure she'll do well at this pageant, regardless of her placement.

Winwyn will have to learn the Spanish language.. but she only has less than 2 months to study. I hope Winwyn will use Tagalog, not English if she reached the final Q&A - this time the Philippines will surely need an interpreter. Gudlak Winwyn!

i don't see a need for an interpreter. wynwyn can definitely learn how to speak like a native speaker of spanish. having been colonized by spain for over 300 years, much of the words we use in our daily conversations are loosely based on spanish so it'll be easy-peasy. as most have been saying, this lady is very determined and really competitive, she'll go to bolivia armed to slay.

I do admit I was a bit surprised by Philippines inclusion in a pageant like Reina Hispanoamerica, but if we do take a look we have countries like Haiti (which main language is French & Creole) participating in such countries.

As long as their is such a Spanish influence in their culture, it's basically a fair ground. And it's a hell of a smart decision for the pageant to invite a nation with the traffic of the Philippines; if it's any indication you can look around the forum. It's business, and a smart one at that

I wouldn't get so defensive as to people questioning the sudden inclusion of the Philippines because it is a confusing thing for a couple seconds until you start digging into History, so let's be calm =;))

The Philipines' maiden participation in this pageant will be a welcome change. I know she will make waves there, sans her small frame, because she has the poise, intelligence, personality, and sorry because I find her beautiful. I have yet to see one edition of that pageant, but I am hopeful she will do better than some of you expect her to.
I didn't know I was looking for love until I found you, Babe!

The Philippines should stay away from anything Spanish. Spanish had a terrible influence among Filipinos. Spaniards were bad colonizers. If not for Americans, we Filipinos are nothing but princess because that's what Spanish cultures are, princess.

Spanish culture is bad colonizer
Spanish culture promotes laziness;
Spanish culture promotes lower class and upper class;
Spanish culture is bad for women because they teach women to not go to school but just to have sex;
Spanish culture is ugly; cheap and crapy!

Hispanic culture celebrations like this pageant is very different than celebrating Spanish colonizers, nobody should celebrate colonizers that killed your other ancestors and raped women left and right. We celebrate the culture that we hispanics (including the spanish/hispanic bits of culture you guys posses) have built for centuries. Hispanic culture is very rich and beautiful and should be celebrated, since i don't know if you meant Spanish or Hispanic. Either way Spanish culture then and now is not that alike either.

Also, just because the US was a "better" colonizer does not mean they don't have bad parts of their culture either.

I think its a good thing that Pinoys embraced their Asian and Spanish herritage along with us. Its a welcome change

Cant erase 333 years of Spanish presence. It's integral in Philippine culture. It was part of the Hispanic world. Filipinos are not Latinos but surely are Hispanicized. When will Guam partake? lol

Excuse me for getting into this.

If the purpose of the pageant is to celebrate spanish heritage I don't see any problem with PH competing. It actually would give more diversity to the pageant.
I'm sure many ppl in our countries are not aware of the Spanish presence that existed in Asia and this would educate them on regard.

The name though...
Reina Hispano AMERICANA: which means countries in North, Central and South America with spanish roots. Not even Brazil fits into this.

I though we will send Ms. Tomalia who could pass of as being a Latina girl to that contest. Having said that Wynwyn would be a wonderful contestant as she will surely stand out and ace the Q.A/Interview part of the competition.

If Reina Hispanoamerica is looking for diversity WynWyn might take it all.

To the TS of posed the question. Unless you are living under a rock you would know that the Philippines is currently the toast of a pageant world. Having a delegate from the Philippines will give any pageant prestige and added credibility. Won't be surprised if next year we will be invited to Miss Europe, Miss Africa, Miss America and maybe even the Miss USA.
