The 3 participants were asked why they were selected as Mr. World 2014. Nerves were evident at Nicklas but his answer came from the heart and was as follows:
"I want to make a difference around the world for dem som aren't as lucky as us right here. I would like to take part in humanitære mission, and differential and most important of all, my dad died når I was 2 years old from cancer. So, something I would like to do is help charity raise money ... I believe the more money we gather ... I think we will find a cure and more people will live and kan save more lives. "
Both the audience and the judges seemed to be convinced by Nicklas' answers. No. 3 was called, as was Mexico. It stood between Denmark and Nigeria. The host, the reigning Miss World 2013/2014 Megan Young, cried Mr. World 2014 - up Deeeeeeeeenmark was said!
This gave Denmark positioned itself on the world map and we got our first Danish Mr. World winner in history!
Nicklas Pedersen can now call itself the world's most wanted man - Mr. World 2014! He is now traveling the world as an ambassador for the britt thing Mr. World Organization. In addition to the prestigious title winner Nicklas prize money, model contract, sponsor gifts and the opportunity to travel around and focus on charity! His life is going to change radically from now on.
"It's completely crazy that we have won the Mr. World 2014! Since Nicklas qualified in the Top 10, we were more than satisfied, we reached our targets. I said to Nicklas that if he gets that far, we should just have the victory home, we have been preparing for the competition in the last 4 months and Nicklas have really worked hard. This requires both a very strong physique that could do so well in the competition, while one must have a strong mentality, plan tactics etc etc. Although Nicklas has been the favorite among many right from the start, it did not mean that he would win. might be that Denmark is not involved in the World Cup, but we just won the World Cup in beauty & sports, I am a very proud beauty coach right now! Neither Nicklas and I understand what's happened! "says Lisa Lents.
Nicklas wrote on his Facebook shortly after the finals:
"Never in a millions years would you have thought, att one day I would be crowned as Mr World.'m Literally speechless and can not believe what just happened. I want to thank all of you for all the love and support! Thank you so much for believing in me and making this dream a reality. I thought I would take a selfie with my sash and my trophy. So dreams actually do come true! "
"This is a huge result for Denmark and I am so happy for Nicklas' behalf! He really deserved to win. Nicklas is one of the most kind-hearted, pleasant and focused people I've met and I'm sure he will use all the hype and attention around him, the sensible way. Precisely by focusing on charity and be an ambassador for our beautiful country, I have only had the rights to the Mr. World competition since 2010 and Miss World since 2009, the year after I even represented Denmark at the Miss World in 2008. going the right way and that Nicklas has managed to put Denmark on the world map is a huge recognition for our hard work up to and during the competition. I am the happiest National Director right now "says Lisa Lents.
Last year's winner Francisco Javier Escobar Parra from Colombia, gave the title on to his descendant - ie Danish Nicklas Pedersen, who can now call himself Mr. World 2014 was the first Dane in history.
Nicklas should have landed in Denmark on Monday night, but his trip is postponed after Mr. World sejeren. Tomorrow he to London from Torbay, located approx. 3.5 hours away, where he will be a big press conference and meeting the world press.
