miss china winning miss world this year in her own native land is not a far-fetched possibility but if indeed she wins, i won't be happy but i won't be disappointed as well. i have learned to not take the results of miss world too seriously. there are just so many things in the world that i should think about and be thankful about. when gwen emerged placed 1st runner up last year, i wasn't as happy and teary-eyed as i was with her runner-up finish as i was with shamcey's.
anyway, china is somewhat dear to my heart because running in my veins is part-chinese, part-filipino and part-spanish blood. my grandfather who was 100% chinese sought refuge here in the philippines back in the first half of the 20th century so i cannot speak or write ill of china and its people. my surname is a testament to it.
