The Fast Tracks were introduced in 2003 to make a contestant automatically advance at the semis. Let's take a look back at how it affected the eventual Miss World titleholders.

Beach Beauty was introduced last 2003 and Rosanna Davison of Ireland won the very first Beach Beauty Competition. She eventually won the crown.




Kaiane Aldorino is the 2nd (and currently last winner) to win the Beach Beauty Competition.



Maria Julia Mantilla of Peru is the only Miss World who did not qualify for Beach Beauty.



Unnur Vilhjalmsdottir of Iceland was a Top 5 finalist. Tatana Kucharova of Czech Republic was 1st runner up. Zhang Zilin of China was 2nd runner up. Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia was 1st runner up. Alexandria Mills of USA was 1st runner up. Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela was 3rd runner up.


---We now see that Beach Beauty plays a crucial role in determining a contestant's fate in Miss World. The only winner who is Maju Mantilla of Peru who did not qualify ofr Beach Beauty advanced to the semis because of the Text Votes part of Miss World during 2004.





Top Model

Top Model was first held in 2004, then in 2007 to present. Zilin Zhang and Ksenia Sukhinova are the only 2 Miss World winners who won this Fast Track.




Back in 2004, Maju Mantilla of Peru did not make it at Top Model. Kaiane Aldorino also did not make it on this fast track. Alexandria Mills was 2nd runner up while Ivian Sarcos was a semi-finalist.




Sports



Maria Julia Mantilla was 2nd runner up in Miss Sports. Kaiane Aldorino was a Top 10 finalist.






Talent


Maria Julia Mantilla, Unnur Vihljalmsdottir, Kaiane Aldorino and Ivian Sarcos were all semi-finalists. No Miss World has ever won this Fast Track.




Beauty with a Purpose



Surprisingly, since its inception in 2005, no Miss World winner has ever qualified or won in this fast track.




---With all these information, we can now reveal that these fast tracks indeed play a crucial role in determining their future. But can we expect a neophyte to win this year? With 2 fast tracks already revealing the semifinalists this year, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one of them will be the next Miss World.

Maju is always my favorite MW, she may be inconsistent in images but she really shined in the final night of MW 2004 back then, I assuredly believed she's the winner as the moment she was qualifies in Top 15 !
And, people may criticize Kaiane, but her achievement is greater than most of the MWs, she is BB winner, along with semi-finalist in both Sport and Talent !
And of course, I want to see a winner with BWAP background, I sure Julia Morley will do it ASAP !

That's why most of the pageant fanatics are waiting for Beach Beauty and Beauty with a purpose results to predict and make their final list! It's also interesting to note that winners in 2010 & 2011 didn't win any fast track, just like 2004, 2005 & 2006! It's probable that this year the winner will be a finalist, not the winner, from both Beach Beauty & Top Model! I'm excited for Miss World.

Nice thread. However you should have noted that prior to 2011 the fast tracks did not carry scores that would help the girls in the finals. The purpose was only to FAST TRACK one winner to the semifinals.

How ironic is it, and somewhat hypocritical that none of the eventual winners ever qualified for Beauty with a Purpose?

Some winners actually did projects that did not qualify (like Ivian), but the MW org should give preference to the contestants that demonstrated charity prior to the pageant.
