kenhan's FINAL FAVORITE LIST for MS. USA 2012

This year’s Miss USA is definitely better as compared to last year since none of them is a clear and walk away winner. Even up to the preliminary competition, it was still difficult to determine who among them should make it or not. In terms of performance, a lot of them are quite forgettable and some other stepped their game up. Thus, making this list is very difficult since the girls whom I have been rooting for since the start had a disappointing performance. Anyway, I still came up with a PERSONAL FAVORITE LIST, based on my own taste and standards. Let’s begin. . .

New Mexico- I know this girl is in everyone’s list. I agree with the fact that she did a superb preliminary performance. However, beautywise, I just can’t insert her in my top 16.

South Dakota- This girl was in my top 5 until the prelims when I was totally disappointed with her performance. Everything about it was wrong. Her walk was forgettable, bordering terrible. Her makeup was poorly done and she has no spark on stage. Yet, I still hope she makes it.

Alaska- She was one of the girls I was looking forward to see prior to their arrivals. However, she came late and from there, she was totally left out. Though I love the fact that she is bubbly on stage, there are several areas that I find very disturbing; huge body, wrong hairstyle, and inappropriate expressions on stage. Thus, it might not give her the chance to advance in the semis.

Connecticut- It is so easy to fall in love with her beauty. Her performance was just fine. Yet, if she makes it, I will be very glad.

Colorado- I haven’t noticed this girl up until prelims. She was one of the best performers on stage. I just hope it is enough to earn her a ticket in the semis.

It is so painful dropping this girl on my top 16 list as she was really my favorite for the title. Just like what everyone else has noticed, her preliminary performance was really lackluster. However, when it comes to beauty, I think she still deserves a spot in the top 16. I hope and pray that despite such a horrible performance, she can still break the curse this year.



This is another painful case in my list. She was also in my top 5 up until the prelims. She really looked like a witch with her styling. It was totally disappointing since I searched for her candids and even some other videos, and I find her very beautiful. I don’t know what happened, but it was totally disturbing. Virginia’s beauty is like you get it or you don’t. I just hope the judges will still get it.



I love the subdued personality of this girl. It is so refreshing to see her on stage. As I have always said, her beauty is like a more refined Leila Lopes. I just don’t know if her performance was enough, but based on stage presence and overall appeal, she should really make it.

I am not a big fan of this girl. I find her teeth very distracting. In fact, in all her prof pics, her teeth are the ones that really get my attention, in a negative way. The only reason she is in my list is that her performance was really great. I think the way she pulled her performance through was way superior than several girls. Besides, she is pretty when she doesn’t smile that much.



This is another case of “either you get it or you don’t” type of beauty. Sometimes, she looks really old. However, I still find her beautiful. I can actually compare her to Ms Texas of last year. Both of them give a granny vibe. Yet, their fierce aura is still the one that captures my attention most. Most of all, her performance was really remarkable.



I was and will never be a fan of this girl. I don’t see the reason why she should even win. It is so convenient to hype this girl as she is wearing a powerhouse ribbon. It is like hyping a Ms USA or Venezuela in MU as they will most likely place. However, given another ribbon, I doubt if this girl will make it. I just have to admit that she had a striking stage presence and great catwalk skills. Yet, looking at her projection and her overall beauty, I really find this girl very disturbing. Her professional shots are even creepy due to her “enlarged eyes” and “stiff neck”. I just hope that if she wins, she will be more refined and fresh looking. Of course, she really has a strong shot at winning considering all factors.

I have to say that her performance was half good and half bad. Looking at how she walked down the stairs, it was really a disaster. Yet, when she reached the stage, she looked so elegant. Her beauty is also half good and half bad for me. There are certain angles in which she looks really awesome. Yet, sometimes, her huge nose and huge lips seem really distracting. I believe that if given the title, she should get a nose job and practice her catwalk all day long!



This girl is one of sentimental faves in the competition. I have been secretly rooting for this girl as she is one of the most photogenic girls in the batch. Looking at her during the prelims was like looking at a blonde Stefania Fernandez. I love her freshness and ability to connect well with the audience.



I find her beauty so exotic and at some point, so harsh. However, it is undeniable that she is hot! The way she worked it during the prelims was totally stunning. Thus, if she makes the first cut, she will soar up until the top 10.



I am not really sold with Ms Popular for this year’s edition. It is not because of the fact that she is too model-ish, but because I find her personality so dull. Most of the times, Ms. USA titleholders, can really connect well with the people. Yet, California really isolated herself even on stage. Yes, she has good catwalk skills and her projection is really superb. However, I can’t find that oomph factor that I have been looking for. Yet, if she makes it, she can really do well in professional shots for MU and she seems to be very smart.



If only beauty is the basis for judging the girls, I would want to see her in the top 2. Yet, looking at her as an overall delegate, I don’t think it is possible. Her performance was really lacking, especially in the EG and she is short. I have rooted for this girl since the beginning and I still hope that she makes it. Her beauty is a cross breed of Kim Edry and Rachel Smith, two of my faves ever. Therefore, seeing her grace the MU stage will definitely be amazing. She is also eloquent. Thus, if luck is on her side and she makes the final cut, she has a strong chance of winning the title.

“Johanna Solano” is definitely superb! She knows how to build up her fight since the beginning of the competition until the preliminary performance. She was not among the heavy faves at first, but she found a way to topple down her opponents one by one. Her EG was very remarkable and as I have said, even her body is so Johanna. A top 5 finish should be the lowest that she can get. I would even be ecstatic if she wins.



I have mixed feelings about this girl before. Sometimes, I find her amazing. Sometimes, I find her so old looking. Yet, her performance sealed the deal. She opened the competition well and set the bars higher for everyone. If Ms Alabama of last year made it to the final 4 despite an average face, I find no reason for this girl not to. She has a great body. Her evening gown matched her skin tone well. She is also very smart. If I can just slice of her longggg teeth, she would be perfect not just for Ms. USA, but for MU!



She is my ultimate favorite in this competition in terms of beauty. In terms of pictures and projection, she is also number one in my list. The only thing that could pull her down is her height. I am also afraid that she will be the Lissette Garcia this year (and I hope not). Her performance was a “like it or not” performance. I think her slow walk was very regal and sophisticated. Her smiling with the eyes is also channeling Olesya Stefanko and I think it worked for her advantage. It would really be a big mistake if this girl will not make it this far, let alone not make the cut.

This girl is a prototype of a Miss USA. Thus, I think she can really take the title. She has an amazing smile. Her body is also perfect. She was also able to transform that disastrous gown into something great because of how she walked with it. Most of all, it is very refreshing to see her on stage. If this year will be a year for the blonde, I hope it will be Audrey.



After contemplating and praying, I finally decided to take the risk and go with Ms Nevada. For some, her performance was a complete surprise. Yet, it was not for me. I have her in my top 7 all the time. Thus, when she did that amazing preliminary performance, it was her ticket to soar as high as getting the title! I am a big fan of her beauty and her impeccable performance in both rounds is beyond question. If she makes it until the end, I just hope she can do well in the q and a.

@Georgia: definitely! Crystle's nose is a disaster. it's because of the holes. .
as for Georgia, the problem is the nose bridge and so it can be fixed. .
@ Kentucky- hmmm, i still see Stefi in her. . .
@ Delaware- everyone is praying, so let's hope for the best. .
@ Indiana- yeah, her teeth make her unique. but still, not a fan. .

thus, no matter how good she is during presentation, i still dont want to see her win. .
Michigan and Rhode Is on the other hand are my top 2 sentimental faves since forever. Hence, the bias. heeheh
i think Michigan's walk was intentional, and if you are to ask me, it worked for her advantage
as for Rhode Is, yeah, i know it was weak. but facially, these girls are wayyy better than Texas. .
and take note, MUO is not just about fierceness at all. . . let's just see what happens. . .

i just saw a beautiful girl during pre- prelim activities. . and even in the interview
Virginia is still pretty. . i really dunno what happened during the prelims. .

UTAH, really? ? ? the very first time i saw her headshot, i was already turned off, big time!
she gives me a Vicky Belo vibe. .

yeah, if only Delaware and Colorado can combine. .
