My ultimate favorite was Patricia Ejercitado aside from her being so gorgeous, I loved her beautiful skin color. I was not a fan of the two runners up last year because I did not like the idea of them joining right away, but I never bashed them. But between the two returning runners up I preferred Janine maybe because she has the same skin as Patricia. I think Janine's biggest advantage is her face. She will stand out right away among the P countries because her look is so different. Since most of the girl from P groups are Latina with the exception of Poland. Now what she need is to work her butt of to improve the things she needs to make her standout more.

Janine will not be in the top 5, so dont start to cry when she does not make it, you will see. She is not a standout when i was seeing her in pics with the five other winners my eyes did not go to her, and when someone is a standout your eyes should go to the person who is a stand out. We will clap again, and whites dont only like the filipina look if that was so then we should WIN SOME CROWNS if you where saying that about latinas then i would believe it, because they are the ones who win most of the time, for example Priscila Machado Miss Brazil suppress Shamcey a Latina got a higher "win" then the asians Luo Zilin and Shamcey. The judges love the latina look more then the asian/filipina look and thats the truth.

I came to this page as I was surprised and yet understand of what's going on. I truly admire the way Filipinos select their candidates and how well they performed. as for Janine's case, well, all I can say is she's a REALLY good role model especially for South East Asian women. infact THAT'S how most Indonesian girl look like...the skin, warm smile, pretty eyes, the look that make us UNIQUE.
she gives hope by representing the Philippines (and all south east asian women) with her unique look and give a big slap for most south east asian girls (I really don't know about Filipinas) who all this time bein fooled by those whitening skin ads which say you're pretty if you're skin is as white as cotton! so well done fellow Filipino for choosing a fierce girl who can easily say "You don't have to look at my ribbon to know where I'm from, bitch, just look at ME"

we'll never forget how that exotic distinct South East Asian look amazed many people in 2005 through our candidate Artika Sari Devi, so I guess Janine will bring exotism and elegance of south east asian women back to the table this time, her message to the world is simply "yes, most girls in my country (and south east asia) look like me, H.O.T!.. and I'm here to represent them" and she's right there standing proud among other contestants. it's time for us to embrace and appreciate our own uniqueness and feel really OK to be different. Janine will be there to show us how to do it, and why can't we just say "do you best honey, we'll support you".
to place or not is a whole different matter (tho I believe she will do nothing less than her previous gorgeous Filipinas) but we get the message CLEARLY.
