Because if they show LIVE the show will drag and go for 6 hours like it used to .. I still remember FEMINA MISS INDIA 2001 which started at 7 in the Evening and finished at 1 in morning. Whew...
Now with stiff nech competition and very less attention span of Viewers they do the editing and add masala and jhatkas to the show and present to us in the way they want us to see. No one saw the "Real " answers of DIMPLE and DAYANA in Miss India 2011!
Plus , I really feel our Television Event management companies are not so professional and swift like US channels to condense a show to 2 hours and that too LIVE where every SECOND matters!!!
I fully agree with u Rajat but still y so late in telecasting the main event? does it take ages to edit the show? u forgot to add that they have to satisfy the sponsors also by showing their ads again n again, u know this delay also one reason y the interst in such events is dwindling.
i really feel sad for Femina not getting any eyeballs now!!!

I agree with both points. I think that if they are going to do a delayed telecast (which is CERTAINLY because of the length and loose structure of the show), they should at least try and do it the very next day or something....
Also, I have to say that I have HATED the Sony editing of the show the last couple of years -- especially last year, with all the terrible camera angles, and the constant fast-forwarding and rewinding when the girls walked (are they trying to be a DJ or something?) and the annoying pauses all over the place, it was PAINFUL to watch. The old telecasts used to be much better, and I agree with Nishant that Star World's broadcast of IAS was much cleaner and better, but that is also a more simple show so it is hard to compare -- but they can certainly take some good pointers from them...
I feel that a big win at MW or MU will reignite the interest somewhat, and maybe we will see better traffic and better productions again...
(I do feel that the production of the Miss India finale is still very nice and very grand, and I just LOVE the Zoom episodes -- now THOSE are well edited....)
