The rules HAVE to be followed.
I believe this is not a case of discrimination.
(I'd like to give my thoughts on the matter as it's quite easy to be all sensitive and jump to conclusions.)
BTW, I absolutely have nothing against transgendered peeps., but I have to agree with their decision to boot Jenna out.
First and foremost, the rules have been clear from the beginning i.e. "Naturally-born female" ( with XX chromosomes )
Now IF Jenna was born to have an Ambiguous genitalia (a Rare condition in which external genitals don't appear to be clearly either male or female)... then they could file a complaint in court and actually WIN because scientifically speaking, 80% of these infants ARE raised as females. (In the medical field, infants with ambiguous genitalia are also raised and considered naturally-born females)
By the way, ambiguous genitalia ISN'T a disease.
So, unless you guys prove that she is really phenotypically female, (naturally born female) then she shouldn't be allowed to participate. Simple as that.
However if Miss Canada's rules state something like : Female or Anatomically Female, then they should probably allow Jenna to join.
My two cents.
And the Athena pics were definitely uncalled for,
THAT is discrimination.

MariaAndreina wrote:Imo, this isnt about discriminating or going against a transexual's rights but i think there's a pageant for everyone.
And i dont think the MUO will ever let transexuals compete because it'll probably affect the viewership.
BUT IN ONE HAND, I STILL THINK IT'S UNFAIR FOR OTHERS TO COMPETE IN MAJOR INTERNATIONAL PAGEANTS SINCE THEY ARE NOT REAL WOMEN. (they are but not born women) BUT I DON'T CARE IF THEY TAKE PART AT MISS UNIVERSE, WORLD OR WHATEVER! I WOULDN'T DISRESPECT THEM.

Wow. I actually agree with you. There are pageants for Transsexuals after all. They may join that. Miss Universe, along with other major pageants are for biological women and we just have to respect that. This isn't even about discrimination.
It's like letting Lucas Malvacini compete in Ms. Universe.

So sad that we are living in this modern era but majority still have the traditional bullshit on their minds! This represents equality, I don't understand the fuss! Who cares if a woman wasn't really born a woman if she looks and is a 100% certified woman??? This is beyond ridiculous.
deary...people like you just makes the world complicated....be happy and accept yourself,be contented.if you feel like a woman so be it..if you looklike one....good for you....if your a post -op , congrats.....but not allowing you to join in MISS UNIVERSE.....does this make you any less of a woman? does this mean they're disrespecting you? i dont think so.... if you want a post-op ts to join in miss u...what will be next...a pre-op ts can join too? making ts a priest/nun? ....why cant you people just accept that there's limitations in everything.and that doesnt mean disrespecting and not giving equal rights!
...Wow!?... You really have the best perspective on this issue!... Keep it up, gurl!...![]()

They were all BORN in the WRONG BODY.
Yet according to some of you guys, they are not considered women.
I know that I cannot convince all of yall but if you consider any of the women above beautiful, then why can they not participate in a beauty pageant?
I understand the morals, legalities and the controversies that would result from transsexuals competing in beauty pageants.
Especially since they are not considered "women" in many countries.
But how could some of you, who are in the LGBT community not consdier these people women?
Don't we all fight for the same rights?
It disgusts me when I see a gay man insult a transsexual, just like some of yall did with Jenna.
As if "cutting your dick off" is all it takes to become a transsexual. As if it's really that "easy".
How ignorant some of you guys sounds.
The beauty of women come in all forms, why can't we just respect it?

If it werent for modern medicine sex changes wouldnt be happening. Its now an option and
its cool to have that but it doesnt mean anything in the long run, atleast to me.
I dont understand if youre gay its because youre a man who likes a man NOT A WOMAN!
same thing for lesbians, look how Chaz Bono RUINED her relationship by becoming a man.
Her gf fell in love with a WOMAN NOT A MAN!

Things are set according to standards/rules. You were born male or female (biologically speaking) and there's nothing you can do ABOUT IT. Even if you CHANGE your sexuality (male to female vice versa) OR how many times you ALTERED yourself according to what YOU want still there something in you that can't be changed.![]()

I can partly see the logic behind what you're saying, but often transsexuals/transgendered identify as being the opposite sex from as young as they could remember. If they were born in ways that can't be alter, why do they feel uncomfortable in their bodies at such young ages in which most children barely understand the differences between sexes? But why are we judging Chaz and other transsexuals by their relationships? Their relationships have nothing to do with the reason they became a transsexual. Chaz was still a man (maybe not physically) who fell in love with a women. Whether her change hurt her relationship or not, it shouldn't matter. Chaz is now a heterosexual man.
