A new year has ascended and with it a new slate to start afresh, speculations, tribulations, triumphs and bitchiness and most of all glamour.
My thread last year about Miss Universe NZ pathway was highly successful and well viewed, so here we go with all of the background leading up to the big night later this year.
I thought to kick things off, I would begin with a tribute to New Zealand's SuperBeauties of the last few years, the goddesses across the different pageants. In short, my my most favourite Queens and the most loved. Though the majority of them did not make the international finals, I still believe we have a chance to make the Miss Universe finals for the first time in 20 years! Its been a long time since Lisa de Montalk in Thailand, 1992!
Here are our creme de la creme. Who is your favourite?

Cassie, my pre-favourite from Miss Universe NZ 2011 - bombed horribly in the finals - but when I see pics of her as a model for Nova agency, I breathe a sigh of "ahhh if only" she managed to translate that translucent fine beauty into a beauty queen package. Nonetheless my favourite Miss Auckland of the last few years and probable up and coming top model in NZ.

Anneliese from Cambridge, Waikato, my favourite all time Miss Earth contender - she was picked as a front runner for Miss Earth 2006 by a former Miss Venezuela (Milka Chulina) and then - bombed horribly in the finals - as she was too scarily thin and looked harsh instead of the sleek exquisite creature you see before me. Again, while she was wasted at the international pageant she has gone on to become a model in NZ. Stunning, vivacious, her eyes I can be lost in forever.

Magdalena from Canterbury, is a sweetheart. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her, and really thought we were in for a shot with her competing at Miss World 2009. She was featured as a hot pick on almost every website and Global Beauties even said she was a top 3 standout for X Factor. Alas - again it wasn't to be. Luckily she has put her beautiful, porcelain features to good use as a NZ fashion model.

Brigitte from Motueka, South Island, was the big winner on the 3rd cycle of NZ's Next Top Model series. She was a surprise candidate who quietly worked her way to the top and maximised her win with her lofty height, Brigitte Bardot qualities and humility. She is enjoying a fashion model career in NZ and we hope that greatness beckons.

Ria from Auckland, is the one name I need not introduce. A huge favourite for the Miss Universe crown in 2010, it was a travesty that she was left out of the race at the first post. Ria has gone on to become the international face of INNOXA cosmetics. Probably the best we have ever produced.

Jessica from Manawatu, was a 16 year old school girl when she won the local Miss Teen competition. She was taken to New York to see a modelling agency and the rest as they say is history. She was recently the first NZ model EVER to walk in the Victoria's Secret fashion show. A goddess.
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements.....
