Since the supreme victory of Amelia Vega in 2003, The Dominican Republic has transformed itself into one of the most competitive powerhouses of beauty pageants these days. With names like Rennata Sone and Marianne Cruz, the Dominican Republic has definetely gained some momentum and this 2009 is not gonna be an exeption. This year the dominicans have managed to produce one of strongest contestant that has graced their crown..

The Dominican Republic, serving as a platform to other contestants from her
country to make it big on later years!

MISS DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 2009: ADA AIME DE LA CRUZ:

Ada Aimée de la Cruz González was born and grew up in Villa Mella, Dominican Republic. She represented her country in the Miss World 2007 pageant, being placed between the semifinalists on December 1, 2007.

She was crowned Miss Dominican Republic 2009, representing the original home of her grandparents, the Province of San José de Ocoa and will represent the Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2009. She is the second woman of noticeably black heritage to win the Miss Dominican Republic pageant (the first was Ruth Ocumárez in 2001).

Ruth Ocumarez was among the top lists of all predictions, although
what happened to her remains a mistery, It's safe to say it has a lot to do with her
preliminary interview...

Ada was born in Villa Mella and raised in Villa Altagracia and returned to the capital at the age of 14, lives with her mother Ana Martínez Ramírez, grandparents Celeste Ramírez and Ventura Garabito, her younger brother Adrián and her little cousin. In the Dominican press, she is known as a Dominican Cinderella, in which her grandmother was a maid and her whole family grew up poor.

She also competed in the Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2007, where she remained among the Top 10 semifinalists. Ada is the first Dominican to win the Miss World Beach Beauty in the Miss World 2007 pageant. She has participated in international gateways, such as Miami Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, Dominicana Moda, among other.

1. PRESENTATION: Ada is going to present herself as a smart, bright, outspoken girl. She dramatize well her ideas and has a bubbly personality, she's a girl of convictions and family values. She's a semi goddess and adding that magaly is gonna prepare her image even more, she's definetely gonna be impressive.

2. FACE: Simply beautifull, she's an exotic black girl. My only concern with her is that she tends to force the smile a little bit and it can be somewhat distracting at points and she kind of lost some of that youthfull spark that she had when she participated on Miss World, but overall she is going to be really appealing to most judges! In other words: Stunning!

BODY: In top condition, toned firm, sexy, superb!! she just need to continue doing what she's doing, then 3 days before the pageant let it all sink not doing anything at all, at pageant night she's gonna be just perfect. Expect no lower scores than nines from this girl in the swimsuit competition!

4. CATWALK SKILLS: Ada is the perfect blend between fierce and clasic queen, she can be both edgy and regal. Expect no mercy from her at the evening gown competition, she's gonna stand out from the pack no matter if it's top ten, fiftheen or top five, she's gonna stand out!! I THINK THAT ANYBODY WHO CALL THEMSELVE BEAUTY PAGEANT EXPERT MUST HAVE THIS GIRL ON EITHER FIRST TO THIRD POSSITION. TO ME, THIS GIRL IS OFFICIALLY THE GIRL TO BEAT, I MEAN IF SHE USES HER CATWALK TO THE MAX, SHE PROYECTS GOOD AND MAGALY FINDS AN OUTSTANDING DRESS, THE QUESTION MUST BE: WHO IS GONNA BE ABLE TO BEAT HER?!? I JUST HOPE THE SITUATION BETWEEN MAGALY FEBLES AND THE MUO DOESN'T AFFECT HER CHANCES OF WINNING! BUT THE MOMENTUM FOR THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC IS HERE! THIS IS THE TIME AND PLACE SO GOOD LUCK QUISQUEYANOS! :=p

Magaly's bad terms with the MUO might ruin
Ada's chances of winning the crown. If that's not the case then unless
she goes high on crack at the prelim interview or hit the stage with
the highest percent of alcohol, she's making it to the semis.

SHE IS THE BEST LATINA GOING INTO MISS UNIVERSE SO FAR, HOWEVER,WHAT I HATE IS WHEN PEOPLE TEND TO HYPE THE TOP CONTENDERS SO MUCH.IT MAY WORK AGAINST OF FOR HER....
I REMEMBER SPEAKING WITH ONE OF THE MISS UNIVERSE OFFICIALS RECENTLY AND IT WAS COMMENTED THAT A TOP FAVORITE IS USUALLY SCRUTINIZED MORE CLOSELY THAN A REGULAR DELEGATE.THE JUDGES USUALLY ARE VERY CAREFUL IN ASSESSING THESE GIRLS.SO, I WOULD ADVISE ADA TO MAKE SURE SHE DOES EVERYTHING RIGHT.
