Both of them placed 3rd in Beach Beauty Competition and both of them won the Top Model Competition. Zi Lin & Ksenia are proofs that Mrs. Julia Morley wants top models to win MW to match up the top model winners of its perennial rival MU.
ZI LIN ZHANG
She was born on March 22, 1984 making her 23 at the time of her victory in MW. Her victory is the first for the Far East and China’s first title in the Big Four Pageants. She was crowned in her home soil.
Zi Lin is 5’111â„2â€, possesses an obsidian eyes and black hair. She was born in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China but she now resides in Beijing. She was already a top fashion model in China when she won her national contest. She had also sashayed in the runways of Paris & Berlin prior to her MW stint. Her credentials easily won her the Top Model competition.
She has obtained her degree in Business Administration. During her school days, she was both a scholar and athlete. She had undergone professional training in track and field alongside Olympic Gold Medalist, Liu Xiang
CONTROVERSY
It was expected that Zi Lin’s victory would cause an uproar among the pageant afficionados due to the fact that MW 2007 was held in China, her home country. Add to this are some controversies that occurred prior and during (the unnaturally required mingling of the girls for some Chinese businessmen as it was raised by some of the contestants themselves and above all, the non-inclusion of Lithuania’s Jurgita Jurkute who was expected by many to place or grab the crown.) Whether or not MWO’s Julia Morley connived and/or bamboozled with these controversies and the contest’s result, Zi Lin’s victory was a well deserved one.
KSENIA SUKHINOVA
She was born on August 26, 1987 and she won MW at the age of 21 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is the 2nd Russian to win the title. The first victory for Russia was in 1992 which was held, coincidentally, also in South Africa.
Towering at 5’10â€, Ksenia is blue eyed and blonde. She hails from Tyumen, Siberia; a place almost considered wilderness by many. But this wilderness has hid within it a fairy that will defer all notions about frozen Siberia.
Ksenia is currently studying cybernetics with excellent academic records. She dreams of becoming a Supermodel. Well, that dream is just a strand away from her reach.
CONTROVERSY: Many worldwide audience considered Parvathy Omanukuttan of India, the 1st runner-up, to have the best performance in the finals night; thus, should have won. The Indian beauty publicly admitted her dismay but Ksenia nor MWO did not give any word on this.
