Jheeded's story is very touching and it makes me very happy to know that he has risen above those difficult situations he found himself in.
I just can't only give one because I have come to realize about many things in my 38 years of existence in this world.
Man always realizes the worth of another in his absence or loss. He should not take his loved ones for granted while they are very much around. He should avoid hurting them with his words, actions or even inaction. This brings me to another lesson in life that keeps on reminding me of its truth.
Regrets always come after an action has been made after arriving at a decision. Regrets do not precede our decisions and actions and oftentimes, we live in regrets for years and only when we turn to God and ask for His forgiveness and only when we forgive ourselves, too, do we cease to dwell in those mistakes of the past we committed.
A man should be given the chance to reform because a man is innately good because he was created according to the image and likeness of God who is all good. A man should not be made to die through summary execution or death penalty. Man has the ability to drop his ugly and sinful ways only if he wills it and through the grace of God which he should ask humbly, heartily, and constantly.
Although we may regret hurting our loved ones, we do not stop making them feel how important they are to us when they die. The poor souls in purgatory cannot pray for themselves. They need the prayers of the living. If we offer them the highest form of prayer or sacrifice which is the Mass, it's not only them that we are helping but ourselves, too. We help speed up the ascent to heaven of their souls, the love we have for them also brings us closer to God because such loving acts and intentions please Him. When we hear the words of God during Mass, we become wise because we are reminded of what is right and what is wrong and we become even wiser if we choose only to do what is right.
