Kapoor Sisters Against Piracy

Star siblings Karisma and Kareena Kapoor have urged their fans to join in the fight against film-piracy and asked them to watch movies in theatres. "Actors work so hard, directors work so hard, producers and technicians work so hard in making a movie, so we would like to tell the audience out there to please go to the cinema and watch our movies," said Karisma at an event here.

Kareena, who has two big releases lined up this year -- Agent Vinod with beau Saif Ali Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, agreed. "It (Piracy) is a racket and it should stop. You should go and only watch in theatres to see all our films and all the stars' films," she said. Year 2012 is especially "special" for her elder sister Karisma as she is making her comeback to filmdom after a hiatus of six years with Vikram Bhatt's Dangerous Ishq.

"Well, I think it is going to be very special because I am doing a movie after a long time and it feels wonderful that two sisters are in the same profession and have been together throughout. So, it feels good," said Karisma, who featured in movies like Dil To Pagal Hai, Raja Hindustani, Biwi No.1, Fiza and Zubeidaa.

It was a mini Kapoor reunion at the Mumbai airport this morning with most of them flying out to Goa to celebrate Karisma and Sunjay Kapoor's son - little Kian Raj Kapoor's birthday. Kareena, sans beau Saif Ali Khan, Babita and Randhir Kapoor, Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladak with son Azaan, Neetu and Rishi Kapoor and some friends flew out to celebrate the kid's birthday, which is tomorrow, in the sunny climes of Goa.

My grandfather was biased towards Karisma: Kareena Kapoor

Actress Kareena Kapoor, who Wednesday unveiled her grandfather Raj Kapoor's specially designed brass statue, said he was biased towards her elder sister Karisma Kapoor.

"My grandfather Raj Kapoor was biased towards Karisma because both of them had blue eyes. I have green eyes as that of my father," Kareena told reporters. "During summer seasons he would give two mangoes to Karisma and I would end up getting just one. I had to work hard to please him," she added.

The statue was unveiled at the inauguration of UTV Stars' property Walk of the Stars at the Bandra Bandstand Promenade. The event witnessed the felicitation of the 'Kapoor Khandan', one of the legendary families of Indian cinema.

Kareena was accompanied by father Randhir Kapoor to unveil her grandfather's statue. "I am short of words, what more would I ask for. My father and my grandfather had made me who I am. Which girl has got this opportunity guys," she said.

"Kapoors have acting in their veins and blood. I am looking forward to walk down a memory lane. What better gift than this to the 100 years of Indian cinema." Director Madhur Bhandarkar joined Kareena in unveiling the signatures of her great grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Sunil Dutt and Nargis.

Madhur said: "The way Hollywood has its Walk of Fame even the Hindi film industry now has its Walk of Stars."

A special picture was clicked with Kareena sitting in the lap of the statue of her grandfather where she said: "This is the only lap that Saif would allow me to sit on."

The event was held at a five-star hotel but simultaneously the tiles dedicated to Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Karisma and Kareena were also installed at Bandstand. A special honour brass statue on a bench of cinema greats Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor was also installed.

I have grown up on Karisma's films: Rajneesh Duggal



Actor Rajneesh Duggal, who has been paired opposite actress Karisma Kapoor in 'Dangerous Ishq', says he is a huge fan of the actress and has grown up watching her films.

The 37-year-old actress is making her Bollywood comeback with Vikram Bhatt's upcoming film and Duggal, who is 60 films junior to her says he is nostalgic about starring with her.

"I still remember being in school when she had already started working in films. I have grown up on her films like 'Prem Qaidi', 'Jigar', 'Deedar', 'Anari', 'Khuddaar', 'Gopi Kishan' and 'Raja Babu'. When I was cramming through school books, she was already making it big in the industry. Now today when she is returning after a hiatus with 'Dangerous Ishq', I am thrilled to be her leading man," said Duggal.

The model-turned-actor Rajneesh, who shot to limelight with "1920" three years back said that the actress never made him feel like a newcomer and helped him rehearse his dialogues.

"She is a pleasant personality who strikes a good balance between being a professional and a comfortable co-actor. She never came with any baggage or something. We rehearsed and spent time in understanding our scenes. I have seen that for Karisma, all that matters is how to perform in front of the camera," he said.

Right from the day it was announced 'Dangerous Ishq' has been pitched as Karisma's comeback film but Duggal says his role in the film is equally important.

"It is obvious that 'Dangerous Ishq' is a Karisma centric film but I too have a very important role in the film. After all it is that of a main male lead in the film. Once I took the narration, I knew that this role would get me a lot of things. I can trust Vikram sir if he feels I am the right fit for this role," he said.

'Dangerous Ishq' is a romantic thriller in 3D and Duggal says one can expect a lot of thrills and suspense.

"There is a lot of drama and certain stunning revelations. There is a lot of suspense here with good elements of thrill. Since the film has been shot in 3D, the thrill element takes a different preposition altogether," Rajneesh said.

The film also stars Divya Dutta, Jimmy Shergill and will hit the theatres on May 11.
