Does the contestant have to have "hispanic" blood?
I understand the former Spanish colonies competing. I guess I can see Australia competing because her she is of El Salvadorean descent.
But Brazil? Curacao?
Wouldn't they be more Portuguese than Hispanoamerican?
I just need clarification.
Theoretically "Hispanic-American" are just the green countries on the map.
All others participating in the contest are only to increase the amount. Philippines, Australia, Brazil and others are not part of the Spanish-American region.
They should just probably change it to Reina del Mundo Iberico to make it more inclusive. This way, they can further invite all former colonies of Spain and Portugal. Although that still would not explain how Haiti is included since it was a colony of Spaina and not of the two countries of the Iberian peninsula.

Haiti was a colony of France is what i think you meant to say.
And this still wouldn't explain why Australia is represented unless they are going by the ethnicity of the girl who is representing Australia.
And i wonder when will Equatorial Guinea be represented in this pageant? After all, it was the only Spanish colony in Africa.
And what about Gibraltar!

In Spanish .... Ang tawag saten eh Felipino
Kase nga dahil ke Haring Felipe ng Spain
Strictly speaking ...wala namang King Philip of Spain ... English name ang Philip .
It's actually Felipe
Pero yung sash eh Filipinas
Not Felipinas
Ah ewan

Yung national costume ni Teresita ... Tinipid ha .
Yung sarimanok ... Di ba usually brass yan ...mukang science project .
Very interested pa naman ang mga Latino ... Kase unique ... Kakaiba ... Wala silang ganyan .
To be honest... mas maganda pa yung costume ni Clenci sa MGI
In fairness ... Teresita prepared for it . Maganda yung dance nya. Mukang authentic
