I have been following this so called biggest gay international pageant, Mr Gay World which started since 2009 and in it's 8 editions of pageants there seems to be a pattern when it comes to the winner. So far there has been all white winners with no Black, Asian or Latino winners. There seems to be something fishy that in it's many years of edition, I have wondered why they haven't manage to even make one coloured winner. Let's take a look at the history of Mr Gay World;
2009: Ireland - Max Krzyzanowski
2010: South Africa - Charl van de Berg
2011: South Africa - Francoise Nel
2012: New Zealand - Andreas Derlethfrom
2013: New Zeland - Christopher Olwage
2014: UK - Stuart Hatton Jr.
2015: Germany - Klaus Burkart (Dethroned)
New 2015: Hong Kong - Mass Luciano (Latino Origin)

It makes me wonder whether the org will continue to crown white men as the image of gay ideal of beauty or will there will be someone new and fresh to change this format. As a young growing Asian man I feel quite sad that male pageants specially gay in this case seem to be dominated by the media's ideal of having white as what we should strive for.
What's worst is that in 2012 Mr Gay UK - London Contest, the original winner Stavros was negated by the org after winning the crown of Mr Gay London 2012. 1st runner up who is the ideal hunk was named as the winner and was published as the winner. Here is a sad documentary about the real truth about the dark side to gay pageants.

What do you think about the current trend of having white winners for Mr Gay World?
Do you think there will be any chance for an Asian/Black/Latino men to win this coveted title?
Or is it just selling dream to all the gays who don't fit the ideal role of perfection in the eyes of Gay community who have been facing many discrimination themselves in the past.
