IT'S BEEN A COOKING SHOW EVER SINCE IT MADE SHOOK A JUDGE--HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM MISS WORLD, AND THERE IS NO CLEAR STATEMENT HOW MUCH WEIGHT THEIR SCORES CARRY. FOR ALL WE KNOW THE REASON WHY THE PHILIPPINES ARE WINNING BECAUSE of THEIR JUDGING SCORE HAVE MORE VALUES. WTF WITH THE INTERPRETERS--AND YET TERESA WON, HAHAHAHAHA. THIS PAGEANT IS A BIG, FAT JOKE.

The biggest joke is when they crowned karen ibasco as the winner!

What? How come Queen Karen invited to UN Youth Climate Summit in New York (yes it's real UN not the model one) if her win was the "biggest joke"? She still continued her advocacy even if she relinquished her crown to Queen Ponkan last year.

MEO did not crown Karen Ibasco, judges did, audited and tabulated by a firm (I forgot the name though)

Her answer was outstanding, you cant deny her the crown

I really believe that Venezuela could have won 2011 if that idiot of an "interpreter" had translated her answer on point. As far as security goes, I would say that security is good but not as tight as Miss Universe or Miss World. I read somewhere that one or two contestants had their cameras and purses stolen in the hotel where they were staying (of course, this could happen to anyone anywhere). many of the titleholders look ordinary, to be honest.

So the lack of interpreter is the basis of being a major....

Miss International
Miss Earth
Miss Supranational
Miss Grand International are out of contention...

heck even Miss World doesn't have decent intepreters

Miss Earth has NEVER had any excellent interpreter since it began in 2001. I am not concerned about MGI or Supra because they really haven't leveled up to the four Big 5 pageants (Miss Universe, MW, ME, MI). I never implied that good interpreters should be the basis of why a pageant should be considered major, but good interpreters should be available because NOT every girl speaks English. Miss Earth has screwed up the winning chances of several non-English speaking contestants because of this problem.

Alyz won with an interpreter. Maybe, those who failed because of the interpreter were not destined to be the winner. Tereza was quick thinker that she came up with witty answer despite not answering the Q&A, Ponkan was not a good speaker either. Her English was broken. But if you have noticed, most the girls, knowing that interpreter is not an issue, they're really working on their English.

"Maybe, those who failed because of the interpreter were not destined to be the winner." - You just confirmed Rafa's argument that the pageant lacks proficient interpreters
"Tereza was quick thinker that she came up with witty answer despite not answering the Q&A," - Did you watch the video? She paused for a few seconds, desperately thinking of a good answer, but she couldn't, so she just RECYCLED a cliché answer about Mother Earth.

The bottom line is that if Miss Earth truly wants to be in the same caliber as Miss Universe or Miss World, they have to step up to the plate and provide a basic service (good interpreters) that will HELP the girls increase their chances in winning or at least help them improve their performance in the competition. No more excuses!
