I don't see it as a problem if she chose to speak Italian during the course of her competition even when her sash says, "Philippines". If given this opportunity, then she isn't the first one to do this at an international competition. As I've mentioned before, Tina Roussou of Greece, spoke German at the Miss Universe 1982 pageant in Lima, Peru. Was German an official language of Greece? Hell, no, but the pageant organisation allowed her to express herself in that language. All in all, Miss Earth needs to allow Celeste to speak Italian in her pageant journey because that is her most comfortable language of expression. As early as now, they need to find an excellent Italian interpreter to aid Celeste and Carousel Productions must not be stingy looking for competent interpreters not only for Celeste but also for the other candidates who do not find English as their main language, or lingua franca.
