INDONESIA TO HOST MISS EARTH 2012 COMPETITION

JAKARTA, May 3 — A media gathering took place in Jakarta as preparation for the official launch of the Miss Earth 2012 beauty competition, to be held this time in Indonesia. The international finals will take place in October.

Indonesian national finals will take place in June.

Although Vietnam was supposed to host this year’s pageant, Global Beauties reported in February that Ninh Thuan authorities had apparently backed out from the deal.

It is the first time in history Indonesia hosts a Grand Slam beauty pageant. In 2013 the country will be host to the Miss World competition.

The official press conference of Miss Earth 2012 – Indonesia shall take place soon with the presence of Carousel Production organizers and reigning Miss Earth Olga Alava and her court.

In the meantime, the 2013 Miss Earth competition is expected to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. Special thanks Miss Indonesia Earth Foundation.

I hope this will push through. No financial issues (like in 2006 with Santiago, Chile) and no natural disasters (like in 2011 with Bangkok, Thailand)

i wonder what will be their excuses it this will not push through? in Chile-financial, in Bangkok it was natural disaster, and now in Indonesia? hope not... Terrorist attack! a muslim country.. good to hear it will be in Thailand next year.. :=p

If it will not push through in Indonesia, I want SM MOA Arena to be the venue though! :=p

If it will not push through in Indonesia, I want SM MOA Arena to be the venue though!

This is the PERFECT venue of Miss Earth., very beautiful, very classy, and VERY BIG.. But hopefully Carousel has the budget to host ME here, because as I know the rent for this arena is more expensive than the rent in Smart Araneta Coliseum..

Yes Miss Earth 2012 will be Indonesia. It was not announced during Miss Philippines Earth 2012 because there is another City who wants to co-host this year's Miss Earth. Guess what city is it?

As I know Jakarta is the host city.. But rumors are spreading that it will somehow be in Bali.. Is that true?
