anyway, all of my favorite bb. pilipinas-international titleholders through the years could have also been worthy representatives to miss universe like alice veronica sacasas who i remember having read at youtube was described as hermosa, jessie alice dixson, maria patricia betita(i have caught her two recent tv guestings on spoon and moments and she was a delightful interviewee and a lovely sight to behold in both occasions)., gladys andre duenas, yedda marie kittelstvedt, colette glazer(if only she met the age requirement making her eligible to grab the top plum) and melody adelaide gersbach(seeing how she wonderfully performed at miss international 2009 and how she was blessed with a very pretty face and flawless white skin made me regret she only got the title she got.)

Oh, thanks for this info callmemike.. It's just that all the sources that I have read included Miss Chiong as a semifinalist in the 1980 edition of Miss International... Calling the attention of all pageant historians and as well as other highers up to confirm this so that I can make the necessary changes in this thread... Much thanks for this mike, I truly appreciate it... :hx :hx :hx

Hopefully, this year Philippines will send a well-prepared representative to MI, aside from being competitively beautiful.

I thought Nicole was gonna snatch the crown last year, but I actually found her less prepared than Janine. She could have been trained as well.

Both Philippine reps to Miss Universe and MI should work hard this year with similar training and see if any of them will bring home a crown.
TO MY FILIPINO FRIENDS:
Winning Big4 is a work of art. Pia, Angelie, Bea, Ara, Megan, Janine, Shamcey and Venus know how to craft it.
They have the winning formula.
Use their expertise.

With the recent success of our queens lately, I think many young girls out there will be inspired to follow their footsteps. Trainers will likewise be at their best in training the girls.. Let's continue the winning streaks set forth by our queens... Let's do this for the country.. :-* :-* :-*

Philipines made it as a top 12 semifinalist in Miss International 1980 via Diana Jeanne Christine Alegarme Chiong. Alice "Peachy" Fernandez Sacasas was a semifinalist in Miss International 1981. By the way, wonderful thread...

I have done a reseach and I found this.
This was actually the final official results.

Miss International 1980: Costa Rica Lorna Marlene Chávez Mata
1st Runner-Up: U.S.A. Charissa Ann Ewing
2nd Runner-Up: Spain María Agustina García Alcaide
3rd Runner-Up: Britain Lorraine Davidson
4th Runner-Up: Chile Mónica Salinas Ruiz

There were no semifinalists called in that year . Maybe, the Philippines made it in the top 12... Japan as a host country did not make it also...

There was a rumor that during the deliberation in BB Pilipinas that Aurora Pijuan should have won BB Pilipinas Universe but since the reigning Miss Universe is already from the Philippines they decided to give her the International crown. A back-to-back in Miss Universe might be impossible and guess what she won Miss International. Bongga sana if Miss Universe back-to-back tayo 1969-1970 at 1973... :%)) :%)) :%))

Colette Centeno Glazer was perfect for Miss Universe! Sayang naibigay daw sa kanya ang BB Pilipinas International 1998 crown kasi di pa cya qualified sa Miss Universe. She's only 17yo that time when she joined. Sayang maganda, sexy at matangkad 5'10".

That would always be the consequence of a candidate who failed to meet the age requirement of a specific pageant no matter how qualified she may be...
