There are two Miss Photogenic winners in Miss International 2006 due to the different choices for the Tokyo and Beijing press.
Miss Photogenic in China is Miss Finland Karoliina Ylajoki
Miss Photogenic in Japan is Miss Thailand Vasana Wongbuntree
For the first time since 1967, the traditional pearl crown wasn't used. Miss International 2006 Daniela Di Giacomo was crowned by Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman with the newly designed crystal crown.
Hong Kong penetrated the top 15 in Miss International 2007 for the 3rd time after 22 years. Their last placement was in 1985 when Ellen Wong made the top 15. Grace Wong also won Miss Friendship, a title won by Hong Kong for 6 times already and 4th consecutive win too. Her win makes Hong Kong the nation to gather the most Miss Friendship awards at Miss International and the most congenial titles at any major international beauty pageant.
Miss Hong Kong Grace Wong who forgot her Miss Friendship award after giving the award to a Tokyo chaperone. She did not realize that until she arrived in Hong Kong and the Miss International Organization has to mail the award back to Hong Kong.
Indonesia made it in the top 15 in Miss International 2007 for the second time after 30 years of absence. The highest placement of Indonesia was in 1977 when Indri Hapsari Soeharto placed as 2nd Runner-Up.

For the first time in the history of the Miss International beauty pageant, there were two deaf and mute contestants.
They were Miss France and Miss Venezuela.

India's Esha Gupta is India's top Fashion model and she was a favorite to win the Miss International 2007 title. Unfortunately, she did not even make it to the semifinals. She has a striking resemblance with Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. Her Wardrobe was considered a big disaster causing her failure in the contest.
