In the end, this is a ''beauty'' pageant, which is questionable since the winners are always mediocre beauties, with a few exceptions. So, Miss West Virginia should be the winner, she is beautiful and her answer was decent. However, I don't care too much for this pageant, the winner is just like a wallflower compared to Miss Universe and Miss USA, she's there just to smile and look pretty, nothing more. I wish there was a Miss Universe for teens, now that would be interesting.

I hope Miss Michigan and Miss West Virginia join Miss USA in the future anyway!

I think the rules are different in Miss Teen USA though. I think they like crowning queens that actually look like teens. That's why I don't hate on Danielle Doty too much, she looked like an adequate teen queen and seemed really sweet. Plus, if they actually crown the "right" girls that makes them less likely to compete in the Miss Division. Like, the last Teen USA winner to compete at Miss was back in the 90s. We may have never gotten Alyssa had she won Teen USA back in 2007.

Fun fact: Misses Teen USA 2003 and 2006 were Miss California USA 2009 and 2011 respectively yet did not compete for the crown. Tami Farrell replaced the dethroned Carrie Prejean and Katie Blair ascneded after Alyssa Campanella won Miss USA. Tami's aged out and has since married but Katie's still eligible to compete for Miss USA.

Being a Connecticut resident myself, I'm really proud of her. I am so glad that the age of southern belles are over and American beauty is starting to diversify itself. With both Miss USA and Miss Teen USA coming from New England (RI and CT), we are starting to see different styles and tastes.
