MANILA, Philippines – Binibining Pilipinas 2011-International Dianne Necio is set to leave on Thursday for this year’s Miss International pageant.
The 19-year-old Necio will represent the country in the 50th Miss International pageant in Cengdu, China on November 6.
A send-off party was held for her on Tuesday wherein her fellow beauty queens bid her good luck.
Miss Universe third runner-up Shamcey Supsup extended her best wishes to Necio.
Supsup said, “You’re very generous. Inuuna mo ‘yung iba kesa sa sarili mo, and 'yung mga ganong tao raw bine-bless ni lord, so you are very blessed Dianne and all the best to you and god bless.”
Necio's fellow "Bicolana beauty," 2010 Miss Universe fourth runner-up Venus Raj, was also present to pump up her confidence.
In her message, Raj expressed how impressed she is with how Necio got to be where she is at a young age.
As a piece of advice, Raj told Necio to simply be herself and have faith in god.
She said, “Bilang isang Bicolana alam kong kayang-kaya mo ‘yan, bilang isang Pilipina, bilang isang Kristiyano. Sabi ko nga, pagpunta mo doon, you offer your performance to the lord.”
And though Necio’s parents are no longer around to see her on stage, Raj assured her that she knows for a fact that they will always be proud of her.
“Alam ko nababantayan ka nila, kung ano man ang gagawin mo and sa lahat ng iyon magiging proud sila sayo kasi 'yon din naman ang gusto ng isang magulang na mangyari sa anak. Kapag nanalo ka, at alam naming mananalo ka, sila ang unang-unang tao na magiging maligaya sila para sayo,” she said.
Necio’s brother Daniel was also present to say a few words before she leaves for the competition.
Proudly, he said, “Siyempre, bago kayo naging fans ng kapatid ko, ako muna yung number 1 fan niya.”
“Gusto ko lang yung best para sa kapatid ko. Kung ano yung will ni Lord sana makuha niya. Mahal na mahal ko yung kapatid ko, ‘yon lang.”
Necio said she will do her best to bring honor to the country in the upcoming Miss International pageant.
She said, “I will really try my best when I go to China, and hopefully ma-duplicate nga ang victory.”
According to Necio, she will be dedicating her performance in the competition to her late parents.
“I offer everything to them. I know that somewhere, they’re guiding me and they are very happy with my achievements,” she stressed.
Necio’s father died earlier this year due to cardiomyopathy.
Meanwhile, her mother passed away when she was only in Grade 2
