In a press conference held on Dec 24 in Tunis, the 16 finalists for Miss Tunisia 2023 were sashed and revealed to the media. The 2023 edition will take place on Feb 11 with the slogan “Beauty at the Service of Humanity”. Confirmed guests of honor to attend the crowning of Miss Tunisia 2013 include Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska, Miss World Chairman and CEO Julia Morley and Miss World Africa 2022 Olivia Yace.

The finale be will be held at Le Pavillon event center in Gammarth, Tunis.



The girls’ 28-day boot camp will start on Jan 16 and will be split between Tunis, Hammamet and Djerba.

It was not mentioned if she will be a judge or guest of honor. Also it was said that the Miss France committee will be invited. I am assuming the most logical invitee would be Indira?

But Miss World was mentioned by name.

According to the national director Aida Antar the boot camp will begin on Jan 16 and will be split between the city of Hammamet (5 days) and the island of Djerba (12 days).



The girls will return to Tunis on Feb 2 to complete their fast-track events (BWAP, Sports Challenge, Cultural Day..) to be held at The Residence Hotel in Tunis.



The finale be will be held at Le Pavillon event center in Gammarth, Tunis.



During the sashing ceremony Miss Tunisia 2019 Sabrine Khalifa spoke about her amazing experience at MW and how she wishes that Tunisia competed at all the Big four pageants. She hopes that the contest will receive more sponsors and support for this to happen. The main sponsor for this year’s edition is Tunisair. Tunisia pays $15,000 USD annually to compete at MW.

Tonight the girls filmed a New Year’s special with Elhiwar Ettounsi which will be aired in a few days.

Sousse is killing it for me she is my favorite. I’m also liking Mahdia, Kairouan, Siliana and Djerba. And I want to see more of Beja. Due to personal obligations not all the girls were able to make it to this appearance. Perhaps a last minute arrangement.

The girls today started working on their BWAP project for this edition, which is the funding of breast reconstruction surgeries for post-mastectomy patients. They privately met with some of these patients to learn their stories and needs.

Latest updates from national director Aida Antar:

- The final number of contestants is 18 not 16. Two more contestants (Misses Nabeul and Ben Arous) could not attend the sashing ceremony because of work obligations in Dubai. They will be joining the boot camp starting Jan 16.

- Confirmed guests of honor at the finale include Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska, Miss World CEO and Chairman Julia Morley, Miss World Africa 2022 Olivia Yace and the national director of Miss Algeria Faycal Hamdad.

- The main winner will go to Miss World. But also will be crowned Miss International Tunisia, Miss Earth Tunisia and Miss Tourism Tunisia.

- For the finale the girls will wear gowns from different Tunisian designers. The winner of Miss Tunisia’s “Best Designer Award” will receive $2,000 TD and their design will be worn by Miss Tunisia 2023 at Miss World’s Best Designer Award contest.

They are surely interested to join Miss Universe but the high franchise fee for Miss Universe is out of their budget. It was mentioned during the press conference. They are struggling with finding and convincing sponsors to pay for the franchise fee.

Their main sponsor this year is Tunisair. Whom I guess will take care of travel costs.

What a load of crap.
I brought Tunisia to Miss World in 2013. And no they don't pay $15,000 in license fees. The amount is less than 4000 with first year participation for free.
Aida has attempted to contact Miss Universe several times but they simply won't respond to her emails
