Also, that last twirl and 'booyaka' moment when Jamaica was crowned was just Nigeria acting a damn fool - not happiness for Jamaica. She stole some of Jamaica's spotlight with those theatrics, and I hated it.

I am indeed happy for Jamaica, she seems like a very sweet girl; and I'm likewise happy for our very own Tya for being the most consistent delegate we have had in over a decade. I wasn't her biggest fan at the start, but in terms of consistency - she certainly earned her stripes. Looking forward to next year...

Why she had to be ghetto? The girl was having fun and she is now trending and get More publicity than the other girls. She is very well spoken and well traveled. Be careful how you use the word ghetto, there was nothing about near actions that made her ghetto. We Jamaicans loving Nigeria reactions and so does the world she is making headline news around the world: very proud of her

To each his own, but I said what I said. Nigeria acted a damn fool. This is a beauty pageant, not a football match. She was acting up even while Kenya was answering her question. For someone who is supposedly well travelled and cultured - it doesn't show.

cause in your eyes you want her to act all proper and up tight, and like the rich chicks that you're use to seeing that have class right? , Had she been a different race would you have called her ghetto? Well she is now an internet sensation and nothing but positiveness from people bigging her up. The damn Caribbean islands and the Nigeria is loving her right now she even made American news so she did something right. Clearly Julia loves her Ghettoness that's why she placed top 12 out of 112 girls

Congrats T&T. Well deserved. She should have been in the Top 12 — she probably just missed the cut.

Miss World needed to fill the "quota" of the continent groupings...

They chose:

TOP 12

AFRICA: 2
AMERICAS: 2
ASIA: 4
CARIBBEAN: 1
EUROPE: 2
OCEANIA: 1

TOP 5

AFRICA: 1
AMERICA: 1
ASIA: 1
CARIBBEAN: 1
EUROPE: 1

For this reason, they only had 1 spot for a Caribbean queen who eventually won, so we did not make Top 12.

Trinis on FB seem to be upset with this regional break down...it's seems with this break down that only the top performer from the Caribbean makes the final 12 - even if the 2nd placed person in the region is really top 5, she will be left our of the top 12.

MW needs to be transparent with how they select the top 12 at the least. =b

Julia have been wanting a Jamaican queen for the longest. She have been itching to give us that crown for years now .
You can see that she loves Toni-Ann when she was performing the way Julia was looking at her I knew it was done deal.
They should have placed tnt over one of those Asian countries

LOL Yellowyam - how Toni come in this. Trinis happy Toni won. It's just they thought as you said, Tya should have been placed in the final 12. We all know one Asian spot is reserved for a particularly pageant fanatic country. =b

INDIA has always been a Julia-favorite Asian country, even over Carribean-favorite Jamaica. [-X

Don’t even get started about prodigal child Philippines, a perennial loser in Miss World.

My posts are showing up here like a whole week later lol... okay. Anyway... congrats to Tya. She did amazing.

My one wish was that the BWAP gown was her choice for the final night. Oh was that gown perfect. It was so good I could have had it for dinner. If anything at all was being decided on that stage .. that gown would have helped.

Nonetheless I still hold that we will never place in this format unless Jamaica sends a very poor delegate. But I'm so happy for the efforts we have made. Not too happy with MW right now. But hey .....

Congrats to the team ... they did a lovely job.

If we want to place higher or win we need to slightly change our strategy.

We need to out emote Jamaica lol. We have the styling and the transformation part down. So ... Pick a girl who looks lovely yes .. but overall she must be magnetic so as to not necessarily win any fasttracks unless she can most definitely win one, but most importantly she must have the best interviews. And this cannot be trained. It must be natural (although of course some coaching will be necessary).

We need an all rounder who can interview like nobody's business. The franchise needs to understand that the interviews can make or break you. They need to crown earlier and train in the background...and yes I will say it, they should consider hiring one of the past MWJ to assist with the interview training.

However, we need to realize though that simply doing what Jamaica does is not going to cut it...MW has a love for Jamaica that is un-rivalled in the Caribbean region. T&T has to work to earn that respect every year.
