Because Guadeloupe is technically part of France/European Union and would be up for the Queen of Europe title just like in 2009 when Martinique was the only Caribbean contestant in the top 15 but the title was give to Barbados.

In 2001, Zizi Lee from Aruba became 1st runner up and became Queen of Caribbean even though Aruba is an overseas territory of the Netherlands. I think MWO should be more specific about it.![]()

kristof wrote:Exactly. It should be about geographical location and not political administration. Since Guadeloupe is in the Caribbean and can't win the Caribbean title, why not send Miss Guadeloupe to Miss France and not directly to Miss World?
The fiasco in 2009 was probably Julia's way of making up to Miss Barbados for not including her in the semi. That is just my theory, since they never released a statement of explanation.

And it was likely before they also had a separate franchise for MW.
Which is kind of weird, but I believe that if Miss Guadeloupe wins Miss France they won't allow her to compete in Miss World.

More specifically because they're described as a Middle Eastern countries.
But Israel is part of the European Union and both countries border the Mediterranean sea like other Southern European countries and both have had a lot of contact with Europe throughout history. Or at least that's what I think. But then Turkey, Morocco & etc. should be categorized aswell.
Wow, MW is worse political bullshit than I thought.![]()

Honestly, I have never gave a f**k about those issues, people make huge things out of nothing, those things are not evaluated in competition, so whatever.
I don't care either so

Sorry to butt in... it's just that, I felt that I should correct the info about Israel... It is not part of the European Union. But, I have to say that a lot of present-day Israelis were originally from European countries like Lithuania, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, etc...
