A world record 120 nations will enter the Ordos Stadium Arena in a spectacular choreographed opening. Miss World 2012 will be broadcast live from Ordos, Inner Mongolia to an audience in excess of one billion viewers in over 160 countries. We are excited to announce that the live Miss World contest this year will have a 30-minute extended running time allowing us to feature the journey to the final and showcase the world's most glamorous event to a global audience for a full 2.5 hours. On August 18th 2012, join a global television audience of more than 1 billion viewers for a night of breathtaking beauty, fantastic fashion and spectacular performances. It’s television’s most glamorous night of the year, Miss World 2012.
A world record 125 nations will enter the Ordos Stadium in Inner Mongolia in a spectacular finale to the four week Miss World Festival.
As part of a new Miss World format, “Up Close and Personal” will see six dedicated camera teams living “in house” with the contestants, giving exclusive behind the scenes coverage.
Miss World Special events - Beach Beauty, Top Model, Talent, Sport and Beauty With A Purpose - will give the opportunity for the contestants to add to their final scores, as they travel to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. These special events will ensure that Miss World stays in the world news in the build up to the final. Miss World 2012 has over 1,500 media partners!
For the very first time, a star judging panel will be able to give their opinions, pick out their personal favourites and reveal their scores for each country. The marks from the star judges and Miss World special events will be shown on the giant World Scoreboard allowing viewers to follow their country’s progress at each stage of the competition.

Denis Davila confirmed that the coronation of Lauren Lawson will be today at the Hotel Dario, the city of Granada.

The theme of the event is "From Nicaragua to the world," Nicaragua is a typical night, there will be a cocktail with unique touch, Lauren entry will be different and will ride with her crown, she said.

Miss World 2012 will be held Sunday August 18 in Mongolia and will air on Channel 2, live.

Despite the recent controversy surrounding issues of funding for Trinidad & Tobago's Miss World Representative, Athalia Samuel, it seems she's on the road to victory.

Athalia has already earned a spot in the Miss World Beach Beauty and Top Model finals.

The National Coordinator for the Trinidad and Tobago Miss World Competition, Mr. Daniel Seebaran, said he is confident she can take the crown.

He described Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2012, Athalia Samuel's current frame of mind as she competes for the beauty crown in China as undaunted and with her eye on the prize.

He is optimistic as he said Athalia is doing well having placed in the finals of the Top Model and the Beach Beauty competition. Mr. Seebaran added that there are three more preliminary competitions to go and the only competition she has missed out on so far is the talent.

But he said even though she was disappointed, her performance thus far has given her an edge in the race for the Miss World title.

Ms. Samuel, who has been described by residents of her hometown Laventille as a hero from John John, has been in China for the past few weeks taking part in tours, events and other activities before the pageant finals.

The race for the coveted crown will take place on August 18th at the Ordos Stadium Arena in Inner Mongolia, China and will air on CTV.
