Dear Readers,

Every beauty pageant has got its own criteria that screens the contestants. So when it comes to the oldest and the most famous pageant in the world the task of identifying the set of criteria that makes a contestant an "ideal" to win the crown. From my point of view here is the listings, hope you enjoy!

1. Live the tagline- beauty with purpose with sincerity

It does not matter what cause you are supporting, it does not matter on what scale it is being projected. What matters is with what sincerity and dedication a project undertaken by a contestant. Thus, it is very important to feel your cause and not pretend for sake of supporting it.

2. Inner beauty beats Outer beauty

Over the years lot of beauty critics have slammed Miss World pageant to be unfair in deciding the most beautiful women. In my opinion, the MWO does not concentrate their circles on outer beauty. Beauty which is fresh, pleasant and appealing to all women around the world is set as prime criteria to judge a contestant. Miss World sets apart from other beauty pageant for it is not Top model contest or Best gown competition. It is an overall projection of a contestant both inwards and outwards and many times the inner beauty is indeed given more preference and not the vital statistics.

A quote recently made by Julia Morley about the height is mis-quoted. In her opinion, MWO wants a girl to be more beautiful inwards and have a certain charm that even though she is 5.1' she can outshine a girl with 6 feet height.

3. Create your own identity and not pretend to be someone for sake of competition

It is so important for all the girls who take part in Miss World competition to be themselves. After all the winner should be able to influence her thoughts of beauty with purpose in her own charismatic way. A true global ambassador who can present herself with utmost dignity and grace.

4. There is nothing called missosology.org

Unlike other beauty pageants, the contestant can place even if does not have history of placing often in the pageant. Countries with enormous victories in the past have been unplaced even with strong candidates who were expected to make cut because of the ribbon they represented.All the countries from all continents are weighed equally.

5. Winners charm world even more after their reign

MWO believes winner should shine even brighter after her reign and not someone who just attracts momentarily for the competition. It is very much apparent most of the winners have gone to change lives of so many people around them and world. Some study, some dedicate their life for raising charity while some continue to be acclaimed for their beauty. Your best is after the reign.

TRUE! very straight to the point. other people here forgot what miss world is all about. it's about beauty with a purpose. i wonder where they are right now. :zzz

if there is missosology.org ,then the plain Bokang Montjane Miss SA wont entered the semis, even she wont been the top 7 in MW last year (London) edition, and that Mandela's son wont staged for given bla bla bla speech ..so in every pageant Politics still has their own proportion..
