Have you seen the World final qualifiers NovemberRain? Do you see the two ladies above competing in the top 5/10...probably not. The qualities required to win Miss Universe are extremely high. There has to be an X Factor in your countries entry to have a chance at winning the major title. Imagine the publicity your organisers would gain if your entry came home with the crown... If you think the two you have listed have these qualities then that's fine. Consider emerging faces, age and natural beauty (I cannot stress how important physique and height are). You will not win anything if you are not the full package. The lady that aces this would have already competed and won a handful pageants and have that X Factor winning quality.
Back in the 80's when I was competing in Florida, if I looked to the side and saw a girl that had already beaten me in a previous pageant then I kind of already knew my fate. I was not successful myself but enjoyed the experience and made great friends. I always thought...I might have a chance at the next one but winners do not get less experienced they mature and refine their ways...I hope the organisers in GB have an eye on the main event.

lets see queen, GB always send the wrong girls to MU every year, i even didn't remember when the last time GB as Semifinalists, probably more than 30 years

If you research Sandra you'll see she's already competed in numerous pageants and won UK titles, she's the best the UK has to offer. Go to her facebook fan page. She's 5'8 and has a gorgeous shape. She's announced her hair colour and dress choices are a suprise for the final night. I'm excited for Miss GB Universe and nervous they'll pick the wrong girl for Universe.

The beauty you described would not mark a 'british' beauty. I agree, the more exotic type is striking but I'm critical that each girl must represent her origin. Plenty of those type of beauties will be competing for other countries!!!!

Is it me or are there no scots competing this year, I don't see anyone from edinburgh, glasgow, aberdeen etc My favs at the mo are Judith, Romy and Sameena.

Judith Keys looked beautiful at Miss Nottingham but not strong enough for a winner- almost! The girl is young though and needs all the experience. Wish her the best!! The UK girls are lacking athletism, it's a beauty contest not an 'Only way is Essex' pageant.

Of course Naomi Campbell, Rachel Weisz or CZ Jones type of looks are BRITISH. We are a cosmopolitan country.... Furthermore CZ Jones looks very welsh (which is part of GB) and Rachel Weisz to me is a quintessential "English Rose".

A little fact: Non-white British make up more than 33% of the Uk’s population so are either Asian, black, mixed race etc. Which means your comments discriminate roughly 10million BRITISH women.

You have made it painstakingly obvious that you are only interested in Sandra Marie Lees but her look (blonde & fair skinned) is not the only look that truly reflects GB. Non-white British make up more than 33% of the Uk’s population and I'm certian the percentage/number of natural British blondes would be smaller.

Yes it is and this was an image from 2007, if you continue to research this girl. As you rightly described these girls gain experience and with experience comes styling too. Some of those gorgeous winners have poor images. There are thousands of gorgeous images of her too...maybe post one of those too?!

I was waiting for the racist card to be pulled out. It has been stated that the blondes are not as stronger contestants as the latino type women in this pageant. My point is clearly stating that there will be plenty of exotic/black/Indian whatever you consider beautiful girls competing. There is NOTHING wrong with sending a strong blonde contestant and if the UK can at least place top 16 with one of these girls then so be it! I do agree with a comment someone made previously though that Sandra would make a far sexier brunette. I must also address this sentence that you have chosen to single out “Plenty of those type of beauties will be competing for other countries”. I feel that you read this in a defensive way and was not in any way meant to single out other races. Why did you think I was being racist when I was clearly referring to a type of brunette??For example, you rarely see a blonde representing Spain or Brazil. We are a country where the blonde complexion comes naturally to someone of Caucasian/English heritage, therefor why not embrace that. The person who made the comment even said '...type of beauty'. I LOVE all beauties, but I appreciate the blonde contestants in this GB 2012 pageant and will equally not discriminate them for choosing to be blonde.
