Celeste held back too much during the entire competition and gave a very safe performance in prelims, which eventually turned out to be forgettable.

Her oratory was not phenomenal but not bad either. However, I think it is her performance that led to clapping.

What do you think ?

Average communication skills, weak preliminary performance, lack of strong advocacy and interesting backstory, and worst of all a tacky preliminary gown that made her look like a shapeless “lumpia” (spring roll), her final gown is way better which she should have worn instead during prelims.

I think MUO is trying to go back to the Latin market, and North America. I guess it's more profitable there unlike the Asian market. Let's face it, despite the word war between latin american countries, they are actually a tight and solid and unified group - they will support anyone who speaks Spanish (and Portuguese for that matter). Unlike in Asia where there's disunity apart from the excessive word war and bullying and racist antics of every country.

I also think they really have USA as the winner on the onset, whoever wins Miss USA, she will really be the winner. It's just a shame that USA is of Filipino descent so they cannot have two "Miss Philippines" in the top 16, that's too much of a bias already - from sponsors to judges to designers, and trainers, there's already a Philippines-stamp on all of those and having two Ms. Philippines and a possible top 2 are too much already.

Maybe i am wrong but this only makes sense unless you're gonna tell me that Australia, Laos, T&T, Portugal, and Canada really outperformed her, which is really ridiculous.

Or maybe they are teaching the ASEAN countries some humility because of their bully and racist fans.. oh well

1. She never “blossomed” - she never really connected with fans. Too much of pics, “glamour photos”, high end fashion.
2. Decent but not outstanding performance in the preliminaries. Philippines has built a reputation of being a performed in these last 11-12 years. Celeste just did not deliver up to those expectations.

4. Personally, I think plastic surgery was wayyyy to obvious making her to look strange at certain angles - not beautiful enough but this is a very personal observation (you can check my lists of favorites- most of the time I had her in a very low spot or not at all for this reason)

This is actually correct so the strategy of the MUP org is no longer acceptable and no longer works. They just got lucky last year that Marian Rivera was there as a judge that probably helped Bea to reach top 5. They really need to assess their strat and game plan now.

I totally agree with this! This will take toll on their products. When they were excluded, I immediately assessed and compared the performances, advocacies among other factors, and they also don't have a lot to put on the Miss Universe table.

Fro what I heard from the VIetnamese fans, Vietnam is a good speaker and her English is fine to me…not great but you can understand her fine. Plus she has a great advocacy. Indonesia is a bitter face and Philippines is overrate and looks super fake and not genuine . She comes off as unfriendly and unapproachable and her Botox face and pouty injection fillers didn’t help her
