It does play a role, but not a significant role. For one, a contestant from the Philippines is naturally gonna have more followers than a contest from Trinidad and Tobago. That should lessen heir chances. And some countries take pageants more seriously as well. At the end of the day, the girls will be judged on interview, SS and EG during the preliminaries. So that is what it's all about.
So while it may play a small role in a contestant getting to the Top 20, after a girl reaches the Top 20, it will be all based on what they do on stage that night. The judges, I'm sure, wont be scrolling through IG, Twitter, Tik Tok accounts to help them determine who should get to the Top 10, Top 5, or win the crown. Social media is never a true reflection of who the women are. The interviews is most important. Make a great impression there, and if the judges love u, it heightens the chances of the country delegate getting a better score in EG and SS and throughout the rest of the competition. No way the judges are keeping tabs on the ladies' social media accounts on the big night.
