Will Andrea Meza break the "Miss World runners-up curse"?

Postby ajsy0203 » Mon Nov 30, 2020 10:24 am

Prelude:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1857587

Will Andrea Meza (Miss World 2017-1st Runner Up) finally break the so-called "Miss World "runners-up curse (Top 3)" at Miss Universe or will she join fellow former MW runners-up Anna Jónsdóttir of Iceland, Siobhan McClafferty of Ireland, Michelle Khan of Trinidad & Tobago, Zizi Lee of Aruba, Ingrid Rivera of Puerto Rico and Gabrielle Walcott of Trinidad & Tobago in the clappers' circle at Miss Universe?

She can place or even can win Miss Universe if she has the proper transition (from MW prototype to Miss Universe prototype) and training but the recent controversies between her predecessor Sofia Aragon (Miss Universe 2019 2nd Runner Up) and MxU President Lupita Jones, do you think Andrea M can prepare for the pageant psychologically and emotionally against possible manipulations by Madam Lupita just like former NBM and MxU winners in the past?

As of now, it's between Mexico, Peru and Chile. Bolivia is also underrated.
The traditional Miss Universe powerhouses such as Venezuela and Colombia have to work extra hard this year.

She did well in Miss World which is more focused on purpose and charity, and that fits more and more with the IMG/MUO era. So I wouldn't be surprised if she takes the Miss Universe title in the end.
I think the curse happened before because Miss Universe and Miss World were too different and the crossover wasn't easy for most of the girls. But now that MUO is shifting from the "only looks matter" to "empowerment and oral skills" era, then it might work. Catriona did well, so did Maeva last year. So why not.
I wish her good luck too!

Probably, but I do not think there is a curse because of Catriona, I also think "curses" are stupid and making predictions off of that is

It was also posted on The Pageant Nerd video about several MW runners-up later competed at Miss Universe but ended up as clappers. Let's see if Andrea Meza is different from Zizi, Ingrid and Gabrielle? But with the latest drama surrounding MxU org, it will depend on the training and strategy.

Let's see if either Julia Gama or Andrea Meza be the first former Miss World contestant to win Miss Universe since Catriona Gray? 2 former MW contestants win Miss Universe in 3 years (possibly beating Angela Visser and Michelle McLean for 2 former MW winners won Miss Universe in 4 years)
